Beach clean/litter collecting. Being recycled?

Please can anyone tell me if they are involved in a beach clean/litter collecting are the plastic bottles/tin cans/glass bottles found taken for recycling? I have often wondered this and up until Covid 19 I used to stop on my bike and collect the above when out cycling but have been reluctant since the virus hit as not wearing gloves and my aim is to be on my bike rather than litter picking. Comments and information most welcome. Thanks.

My DD does one in Cornwall and everything that can be recycled is, the rest gets taken to the tip.

They had a problem this year though as the Council said they were only allowed 6 people on the beach, in the event only 2 showed up as it was a bad weather day.
Masses of rubbish is being left on the beaches though, including some that you really don’t want to pick up without proper equipment(dirty nappies, and poo).
