Unable to link to Mumsnet

When I try to link to Mumsnet all I get is an error message

I just type in mumsnet.co.uk and it comes up ok everytime,hope you get
lucky

What exactly are you trying to link to? The URL that you've linked to above is http://www.gransnet.com/Talk/gransnet, which doesn't exist on Gransnet.

http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/gransnet should work though, as the page does exist on Mumsnet.

Does that help at all?

Hormones, I don't think you can go straight to a topic page on MN. You need to go onto Mumsnet, click on Topics, find Gransnet, and click on it.

Don't think there's much there though.

Josie - that link is the same as the OP posted. It doesn't work. You get server not found.

You are so right, jangly. The [[]] must do something funny to the URL when you're posting a link from Mumsnet. Sorry for not understanding, hormonesnomore, you were right all along!

Sorry, I should have explained the purpose of the attempted link.

I was trying to point some posters here on Gransnet over to the Gransnet section of Mumsnet. (Not to lead them away from here you understand, just to show them not all of MN is scary & sweary!)

I think, I may be wrong, that the OP was trying to go straight to the gransnet topic on MN.

A link to MN should not have that forward slash on the end.

It comes straight up if you type the address in in the usual way, but links don't work.
