I have been trying to post on the 'today I have been mainly' and" it keeps 'kicking back" and not posting............ Anyone else with the problem ...?

Granny23 Sat 26-Nov-11 22:51:26

Could it be because the thread has reached 1000 posts. Certainly on Mumsnet when threads reach 1000 posts you have to start a new duplicate thread e.g. 'Today I have been mainly - Vol 2'.

Yes jogging I had the same problem.

Yes, me as well. Needs to be started afresh by the look of things.

Gally Sun 27-Nov-11 09:33:40

Nope, but I had problems sending a private message yesterday which was more than frustrating as I lost the bloomin' thing 2x angry

jogginggirl Sun 27-Nov-11 11:03:50

Yes butternut - I was trying to respond to your post and congratulate you also on 1000th post!! Anyway, thanks for post xx thanks
Gally - I too have lost a couple of long pm's - very frustrating - I thought it was just the ditzy blonde in me......grin

We'll take a look and report back sharpish (ish)

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Sun 27-Nov-11 13:07:35

Righty ho...on the PM front there doesn't appear to be any problem. Tech have suggested it may be the login timing out...they're upping the time bow so hopefully that will iron out the glitch.

And yes, quite right about 1,000 being the maximum number of posts on any individual thread. But of course re starting it as a sort of part 2 is absolutely fine

supernana Sun 27-Nov-11 13:20:12

I'm a tad confused but hope to become enlightened in due course...

jogginggirl Sun 27-Nov-11 14:13:10

Thanks to CariGransnet for looking into that for us smile

glammanana Sun 27-Nov-11 14:26:29

I found by trial and error if I went to active rather than last day I accessed the I am mainly thread without the loss of the page,it brought me to the first page then just clicked last page,Ive done this with a lot of the posts that have been popular.(hope this makes sense)

nanachrissy Sun 27-Nov-11 18:10:42

If it's the case that a thead stops at 1000, how come AIBU is up to nearly 2000?

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Sun 27-Nov-11 18:24:09

A very fair point!! TEECCCCHHH????

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Sun 27-Nov-11 19:34:02

Nanachrissy - absolutely right about the AIBU thread. The limit on that one may have been temporarily upped. But...for a number if reasons the 1,000 post limit is generally in force - not least because when the threads get too long and anyone wants to use the "show all" facility on them, the display can get very slow because of the sheer size of the page.

Hope that all makes sense

nanachrissy Sun 27-Nov-11 20:23:56

Thanks*Cari*..... You can't get away with anything on here, can you??grin

jingl Sun 27-Nov-11 22:32:42

They have GOT to be totally addicted! hmm

jingl Sun 27-Nov-11 22:36:12

The quiet little corner has got 1996 posts too.

Perhaps that wasn't the problem.
