Advice on medication

Surely we can give friendly accounts of what different meds have done for us?

Do we really need looking after all the time?

This smacks of letter to teacher.

Does HQ have a position?

You don’t need to follow advice any more than if your best friend offered you a pearl of wisdom
You can’t stop people offering opinions whether it’s health, relationships or legal no one has to act on it
We all have freedom of choice

Unless advice comes from a qualified source it is only an opinion. A person would be daft to follow it blindly .
Sometimes the voice of experience can be useful however and of course some Gnetterscare professionally qualified.
What is the problem?

Anyone asking for opinions about medication on a public forum must surely know that they are getting unprofessional, possibly wildly wrong, and possibly ridiculous answers. Along with some well thought out and helpful ones.

Most of the time I see the addition of "but you must check with your GP" added to posts giving any sort of medical advice or information.

Personally I would never ask, partly because I know a bit about medical stuff, but mainly because being inundated with 68 differing replies is hardly likely to help me decide anything.

HQ, any thoughts please?

If two or more posters are on the same medication there's no harm in discussing side-effects etc.
I'm well aware of the phrase " a little knowledge is a dangerous thing " but it doesn't say that anyone first discusses something with their GP/ surgeon/consultant first and foremost.
It's opinions of others here on the forum, that's all and not a given that anyone takes full advice on medication without consulting the professionals.

If you see a new poster offering to sell you magic potions or snake oil at a discount be sure to report it.
It could be a scam.
