Please consider my ideas re a pinned post with useful contacts

A messaging facility for those who need to talk.

I assume this site makes a profit? Please use the funds to help.

A one stop pinned post would be helpful.

the helpful threads are getting sidetracked which isn't helpful at all in fact they could add to posters distress

The posters deliberately de-railing friendly threads seem to have dropped off a little but there are a few diehards thrusting their views in totally inappropriate places. Regular posters get to know which zealots to scroll on past but for new posters desperate for comfort or support it must be terrifying.

I realise that a delete button left in our hands can derail threads but an edit button would relieve a lot of frustration.

I understand that the profit you make is likely to be your livelihood but some small tweaks could make a big difference.

gilly, I think it means the posts at the top of the active list that have a little GN logo beside them.

Don't take my word for it though. grin

Thanks for your suggestions. We are putting together a page at the moment with useful resources so will make sure that is linked to from the forums too so people can find it easily. In terms of a messaging facility we have PMs for one on one support, as well as the Gransnet Cafe and a No Corona Zone. And of course there's the brilliant Soops Kitchen.
We are spending a lot of resource at the moment getting the word out to as many people as possible who would benefit from Gransnet, and would love for you to help us to do that. Please tell your friends, family members, share on social media and help others who might need us find us. And we are also spending time moderating the forums, keeping them supportive and engaging. Again, any help you could give us in terms of supporting new or lonely users would be wonderful. Thank you smile

My knowledge of things technical is er beginner level. I think a pinned post is a sort of banner which is permanent.

I'm thinking of things like anxiety UK.
