My "other half" - because why would I want to go with anyone else?

Mr C and I have enjoyed cruises but I’d love to be able to go with our immediate family, it would be special as there is so little opportunity to spend time together. So, Mr C, our children, their partners and our grandchildren. There is something for everyone on a cruise and as a real bonus no need for me to be responsible for feeding them all.

I am another who would want to go with my DH.
We know each other so well now, well we should after 58 years! and we enjoy being in new exciting places.

But that said, oh how I would love to be able to take all our adult grandchildren along for the adventure.

I would take my other half but also my brother's with their wives. One couple is great fun and the other couple more steady but have had a tough time health-wise. The six of us would relive an earlier cruise we did shortly after our mother died.

I would love to take my lovely mum as she has always wanted to go on a cruise oh and I'd have to take hubby so he can carry all our on board purchases.

I would love to take my husband as he is losing his sight due to macular degeneration. Last chance holiday. I would also like to take Joanna Lumley to drink some champers with and if my husband’s eyesight is bad he would still fancy me instead of her!!

I would love to take my sister on a cruise, she has had a tough few years yet is always upbeat and good company.

I would like to take Andrew Graham-Dixon and Giorgio Locatelli. When we dock in different ports, Andrew could take me to see extraordinary works of art, and explain their history and meaning, and Giorgio would know which out-of- the way restaurants would serve delicious local dishes, and which ones to order, as well as taking me to local markets. Art and food- delicious!

Oh, I see you are supposed to choose family members. In that case I would take my partner. We have has some lovely holidays, mostly by rail and local transport, which we always book ourselves. However, his Parkinson’s disease is progressing, so that he finds independent travel stressful and painful. I have tried to persuade him to take a cruise, but he insists cruises are not for him, so i would like to take him so that he could see that it would be an enjoyable way to see beautiful places in comfort.

Well I don't have an OH, so I'd be happy to take anyone who could pay my share as otherwise I couldn't go at all!

I would like to take my good friend who has been a source of strength through some tough times

I would go with my husband. He is in the navy and gets to travel on the sea without me and has done for years. We have just got off a cruise and he is now convinced that it is a great way to holiday. Not at all like a busmans holiday.

I don't have an old husband either so would take dd and did, or if I could take a celebrity I would take Monty Don, he would explain all about the different plants on our stops. Also I would like to take Chris pacham so he could help me find the lovely wildlife .

I absolutely LOVE cruises and would soo love to take all my family (including my ex husband and his fiance, (there would be 23 of us in all just so that we could experience this as a family, and to prove to some of my family how wonderful cruising is.

I would like to take all my DC and DGC and of course my DH (Best Beloved) to Alaska for a week with a few days in Seattle on the way home. But I’m having enough problems trying to sort out a weekend break for all of us which everyone can make, so I’ll settle for just taking my Best Beloved.

Another vote for taking DH with me. We want to make the most of every moment we have together and we love to explore the world.

I would also take my husband with me. We rarely get to spend quality time together and neither of us have ever been on a cruise before, so it would be a wonderful first for us. Relaxing, being a little bit spoiled and seeing a little bit of the world together would be just magical.

I’d really love to take my DH, DC and DGS to Alaska, and to see the boys’ faces when they travelled on the old Gold Rush railway, saw a whale for the first time, smelt the salmon in Ketchikan, and panned for gold in the hills.

This would only be possible in my dream world though, where we could step on the ship at Newcastle, and miraculously leave no carbon footprint. For now, we’ll stick with a week in Scarborough.

We did one cruise for our silver wedding which we both adored. We went to Alaska, we did whale watching and saw so much wonderful wildlife. I would love to do another cruise, but the costs are so prohibitive now. I would not want to do a 'Hot' cruise, ie, Mediterranean, caribbean etc, but would love to go to Norway, or even the Antarctic.

As a widow, I'd have to take my D who works so hard, rarely gets time off but at the same time is so appreciated at her workplace. She does get concessionary fares from Stena line but it's not the same sailing from Birkenhead to Belfast as a whole change of scenery would be on a cruise ship. Even a Mediterranean cruise would be magic.

My darling husband. We have such laughs together and both appreciate scenery, relaxation and meals prepared for us.

I've been on 2 cruises - one on a large American vessel (never again) in the Caribbean and the other on a 32 berth boat around the Galapagos (would return in a heartbeat). If I had to go on a large ship again, I would take a hypnotist who would 1/ make me see the positive side of queueing to get on and off the ship in port and 2/ persuade other people not to gorge themselves at the buffet because it's free. On the second type, I would take a personal scuba diving tutor who will encourage me to finally complete the PADI course.
