Yesterday evening my DGS was beaten about the head by a member of an opposing team.
These were lads playing in a 5 a side tournament. My DGS is 15 the 'attacker' is 17. DGS is a good player and had scored many goals during the course of the evening. The referee claimed not to have seen the incident but did eventually send off the other player.
When my son collected him, he was shocked to see his DS so they went to report the matter to the police, it was suggested that DGS be taken to hospital as he had head wounds. The are due back at the Police Station this morning, possibly to make a complaint.
I am horrified, disgusted! angry and sad

My GS aged 15 often gets a kick in the ankle during a game of football. There are some dirty players out there and the ref doesn't always react properly in my opinion.

Your case seems extreme and I am very sorry it has happened. No wonder you are upset.

Thanks Nonu and Petallus
Update: the police are 'making enquiries'.
DS and DGS are fairly philosophical their thoughts are that they don't want a successful initiative to be spoiled by one thug (thug is my word!) GS loves the game!
