I started bowls last season and, although I am not very good, it is very relaxing as you can't think of anything other than the game so for a couple of hours worries are banished. I hope you really enjoy it.

How did you get on campodol with the bowling?

I have taken up this sport this morning with my first visit to the local indoor bowling club. Everyone was very friendly, welcoming and understood when I said I had never lifted a bowl in my life.

I was given a pair of bowls to practice with on my own long mat. Going back on Thursday morning. I did find it very good exercise. It also gets me out of the house.

Well done campo. My husband is a Bowls coach and is regularly finding and signing up new members. He always points out that Bowls can accommodate all shapes and sizes, ages and abilities and they have adaptions for disabled bowlers. I think the great thing is that is all year round and in the warm and dry. Our Bowls club is very large with a very large well used restaurant so we are very lucky. I don't play as I'm still bashing away at golf. When that comes to an end I may give it a try. Good luck with it. flowers

We were visited by my sister in law this weekend. She is 78, crippled with back and leg pain, but she still plays competitive bowls several times a week and refuses to give it up. It is her passion! I tried it a few times, but it didn't really appeal to me. I like to watch others play though. Hope you enjoy your bowling, Campodol!
