With Max on pole tomorrow this is going to be an exciting race. I think Lewis and Mercedes might just win, but you never know.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 11-Dec-21 14:25:28

It is definitely going to be exciting, I just hope they do not do anything silly and take each other out.

tanith Sat 11-Dec-21 14:30:43

Fingers crossed everyone will be safe and they don’t take stupid risks.

Aveline Sat 11-Dec-21 14:31:00

As long as neither of them 'does a Schumaker' (ie 'accidental nudge!')

NotAGran55 Sat 11-Dec-21 16:42:22

I think that it is nailed on that there will be a nudge….

Jaxjacky Sat 11-Dec-21 18:22:40

Red Bull used soft tyres to get pole, good tactics. It’ll certainly be very watchable.

Woodmouse Sat 11-Dec-21 18:40:50

Really looking forward to seeing this! So exciting.

TillyTrotter Sat 11-Dec-21 18:43:59

Any driver who tries to obstruct the leader at any time will be penalised - I think the actions of all drivers will be stringently observed!
Let the best driver win, and the title for the season be won fairly.
It is exciting.

So if I understand this tyre business right, Max on pole should be able to fly off at the beginning and Lewis will bide his time to get ahead? Hopefully that will mean no crashes at the start.

Looking forward to this tomorrow. Great that we will be able to view it "live", on our TV, rather than the highlights programme later, as we normally do.
Of course I've got my fingers crossed for Lewis, but Max is an exciting driver to watch too.

Jaxjacky Sun 12-Dec-21 12:54:08

Go Lewis….???

Josianne Sun 12-Dec-21 12:55:12

Fingers crossed!

Josianne Sun 12-Dec-21 13:08:07

Max will be cross and Christian Horner.

Himself is cheering in the other room. He’s rooting for LH (always has). He loves the Grand Prix although went off it a few years back because it was ‘boring and predictable’. We are having a late dinner today with my stepfather to accommodate this final. Himself has been looking forward to it all week. I hope the event doesn’t disappoint!

Josianne Sun 12-Dec-21 14:28:20

Oh no, can't watch.

Urmstongran Sun 12-Dec-21 14:34:59

Himself seems stressed when I peeped my head round the door. “The Safety car is out” apparently. The commentators seem as agitated as Himself.

Oh no! I’ve just heard him shout at the tv “they’ve FIDDLED it - you robbing ‘b......ds’.

HE IS FURIOUS. ?
Says it’s a disgrace.

Josianne Sun 12-Dec-21 14:36:06

Robbed at the last minute!

Oldbat1 Sun 12-Dec-21 14:38:03

“We woz robbed”. Congratulations to winner though.

Urmstongran Sun 12-Dec-21 14:39:26

Himself has the electric knife out ... slicing the roast pork. ‼️Goodness, he is still saying ‘it’s WRONG’. A disgrace.
Good job he doesn’t suffer from hypertension.

VioletSky Sun 12-Dec-21 14:46:31

They only let through the lapped cars that were between them and the outcome without the safety car would have been different. Very contraversial, going to be many arguments about this.

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 12-Dec-21 14:58:41

I just can’t support Hamilton with his jewellery and fancy hairstyles.

Gwyneth Sun 12-Dec-21 15:03:17

I thought Max drove well and deserved to win but a bit of luck having fresh tyres for the restart. Good to have a new World Champion.

EllanVannin Sun 12-Dec-21 15:05:34

He started from nothing Germanshepherdsmum. I have to admire him for that.

Josianne Sun 12-Dec-21 15:05:53

Germanshepherdsmum

I just can’t support Hamilton with his jewellery and fancy hairstyles.

He always thanks his team and the crowd even if he is vain!

Jaxjacky Sun 12-Dec-21 15:10:42

For those who follow F1 he’s judged on his skill, not what he looks like Germanshepherdsmum.
A disgraceful decision at the end, irrespective of who was leading, Lewis was magnanimous in defeat.
