Lucky pooches can now go to the grooming salon for a haircut
accompanied by their very shaggy owners who can't get to the hairdressers! I wonder if the groomers can have a go at human hair?

The groomers may well be open but its almost impossible to get an appointment before July. My poor little Yorkie x Fox terrier is quite uncomfortable, we are going to try and trim her at home but of course the clippers are not working.
I have been to the dentist and hairdresser already.

I had an appointment at the groomers last week for my Yorkie poo. Had to leave her in a crate in reception they groomed her replaced her in the crate I left the money in reception. All done within the hour.

I ordered some dog clippers from Amazon and trimmed my dog's hair at home. It took a while as he wasn't sure so I gave him a few breaks, but I'm pleased with the result.
When my husband saw the dog's smart haircut he said, "Ooh you can do mine tomorrow" ?

I was more excited about the dog groomers opening last week than I would have been if I was allowed back at the hairdressers!

Had mine groomed last week, just before I was going to do them myself, I now don’t have to put either them or me through that ordeal grin

"I have been to the Dentist and Hairdressers already"

How did you manage that Sodapop unless of course you are not in the UK. Dentists and Hairdressers are still closed here. Looking forward to my Hairdresser opening again not so much the Dentist but I will go for a check up when possible.

Our dog’s social calendar has him booked in.

No I'm in France Judy54 we are a little ahead of UK in relaxing the lockdown. We fortunately live in a 'green' area which has had very few cases of Covid.

I ordered clippers from Amazon a few weeks ago but they have not arrived V3ra.

sodapop I ordered them on the 13th April, they were due by May 11th but were delayed and came a week later.

I am so glad Sodapop that the lovely green area that you live in in France has had very few Covid cases. Hope your dog enjoys her trim. I would enjoy one too but no idea when Hairdressers will open again in the UK.

Clippers arrived this morning V3ra just charging them up then "off with her hair"
Must admit to being a bit nervous though.

Judy54 sorry I didn't explain myself well, France is currently divided into red, Amber and green areas according to the number of Covid cases. We are fortunately in an area with very few cases. It is also a very peaceful rural area.

Are hairdressers/ cleaners allowed in the house or even outside according to Scottish law. Most things are clear but this wasn’t mentioned at all or I’ve missed it. I look forward to hearing from those who have picked these messages up

sodapop geat news!
This is Alfie after his trim ?
I didn't think to take a "before" shot until halfway through ?

Judy54 Thu 28-May-20 13:43:05

Sodapop so great that the clippers have arrived I am sure you will do a fantastic job. Good to know that you are keeping well in your lovely rural area of France. I too am in a rural area of the UK with very few Covid cases and am extremely grateful that it has had little effect here compared to other areas of the country.

Do let us know how you get on with the clippers!

Alfie is gorgeous V3ra. My husband bravely took charge of the clippers and did a good job on our little girl. So much hair came off. Thank goodness our other two dogs are short haired. I don't know how to post pics on here.

We are lucky Judy54 both of us living in the country. I'm so glad to be away from city living, we have friends in Montpelier and they have not been out of their flat since March. At least we can get out in the fresh air.

My pooches are booked in for the 15th. My little Bob is like a tumbleweed. The salon tells me they have all precautions in place. I am happy to take them. I shall have mask and gloves.

Great Sodapop well done to your Husband and I am sure your little girl looks gorgeous. Yes it is very difficult for people living in Cities especially if they don't have a garden or a balcony. Those of us who do have access to the countryside are very lucky indeed.

My little cockerpoo missed out on her last two grooming sessions so she was looking so unkempt with knots and matted clumps. I brushed her everyday but this fur is hard to keep under control. She was gathering up brambles and seeds every time we walked . Managed to get her an appointment last week and it took the groomer 2 and a half hours to get her looking like a different dog. She looks like a sheared lamb but it had to be done. Nicer for her but I can’t wait for the fur to grow back a bit.
