Missing my shiny hair!

Is there not serum stuff that you rub through your hair to give it a shine? I used to have something like that but it's long been used up and I can't remember the name. Sorry. Ask a hairdresser?

The Body Shop do a cruelty free range of Ginger shampoos. A shampoo for every type of hair. Mine leaves my hair bouncy and shiny. If you Google you can view the whole range. Perhaps there's one to suit your hair. Hope so.

Try a drop (literally one drop) of rosemary oil in your conditioner before rinsing.

Rub your hands lightly over your hair after putting moisturiser on your face It leaves a trace behind.

A couple of drops of Argan oil smoothed through your hair before or after blow drying may help.

My hair was falling out something terrible for years.
I had a routine blood test January 2019 and my vitamin D levels were appalling. I was given a super high loading dose and now take OTC vitamin D every day.
My hair hasn't been this good since I was in my teens.
I absolutely hated my hair before. It was seriously getting me down. Even DH knew that it wasn't right.
I now love my hair - it's nothing special, but compared to how it was it's miraculous.
That's why I am now lavishing it with love and spendy products!
The elasticiser has given it more volume and it is pleasingly swishy.

Superdrug makes a cheaper version of Olaplex called Pureplex that is v good.

Try coconut oil. Makes my hair very shiny.

My hsir seems to be drier and lacking in shine recently and I can't get a hairdressing appointment for my usual cut and wash. It seems to have deteriorated since I started using a hair dryer. Maybe it would be better if I just towel dry it as I used to do. Any thoughts?

Downbutnotout my hair doesn't like a hairdryer, and straighteners are a definite no-no.
I haven't been for my usual foil colours and Olaplex treatment for over a year now. My new hair growth is definitely showing more silver strands, which I don't mind, but these are so frizzy and curly!
I've tried mousse and a leave-in conditioner to smooth it down, but it's so fine it just goes completely flat and lifeless.

Downbutnotout V3ra Another source of dullness is that hair has not had the usual trims under lockdown. The tips start to split and that increases with the heat of a hairdryer. Normally the split ends get trimmed off regularly. Now that hairdressers are getting back to normality, a lot of people will have shiny hair again. Cutting down on dryer use would help in the future.

I have never used Vitapointe which is quite old fashioned but highly thought of. Been trying to get for months and D-I=L has now spotted it at Superdrug. Will get as I need it.

FannyCornforth I've only had the Olaplex at the salon, when I've had my colours done. It's an extra £5 a time and one of those "is it really as good as she's telling me?" situations. It's been quite reassuring to read about it being recommended on here! I hadn't thought about seeing if I could buy it for home use before now. The condition is good and the colours last well, which is what my hairdresser told me.

Elegran yes I very rarely use a hairdryer or any heat on my hair. I definitely need a good trim though. I've only managed one, at home, since January last year.

If you use styling products try using a shampoo that gets rid of product build up once a month or so. Tresemme do one and so do Holland and Barrett.

The best is L'Oreals, purple shampoo and conditioner,or Provoke Touch of Silver shampoo. Make sure you leave it on as long as it says. Don't worry it doesn't turn your hair purple, but it does leave a glorious shine. Another one, a bit more expensive is John Frieda Frizzease which is a deep conditioner. I always get comments on my shine when I use any of these.

White Hot Hair Lifeshine Oil is very good. I've been pleased with all their products - they are very easy on the scalp as well.

Another Olaplex fan here. I use the shampoo 3, conditioner 4 and then a few drops of finishing oil 7 and the bond smoother 6. Completely changed my hair.

Yes, it is expensive but I only need to wash my hair once a week now and it looks great all week.
