I want to make my pale legs look better. Any recommendations for self-tanning that doesn’t smell awful or go streaky ? ?

I have never used self tan, but I remember a Dragons Den programme when Kelly Hoppen invested in Skinny Tan which I think didn't have 'the smell'. It was mentioned recently as one of the most profitable investments on the Den.
I hope you find something that works well for you.

Clarins do drops that you can add to your normal body cream. You don't need much lasts ages.
They do Face drops as well
JL have it in stock

I have used the Clarins drops on my milk bottle legs and it was very natural with no smell .

The St Tropez bronzing water spray smells quite nice works well especially with a mitt for application
Good even colour that you can build up I found two days application gave a warm tan

I like LOreal Sublime Bronze tinted lotion. It does have a bit of a smell, but the fact that it is tinted allows you to see how evenly you are applying it.

Do you need to use clarins body cream?

Skinny Tan. Without a doubt. Tried lots and that’s the best I’ve found. Not smelly. No streaks. Nice colour. They even do a sun screen which I aim to use whenever I get to a beach again! Ps have tried the Clarins drops and they seemed to work initially but then didn’t. I went to the shop and the Clarins lady said it was a known issue ?‍♀️

You can use any moisturiser Mattsmum

I think I'm using a Garnier lotion than gradually develops a tan. Just stops my legs looking too corpse like. Smell of apricot oil which I like.

Hello all
QVC have a special offer today (Tuesday) for Tanning Drops.
A bottle for body, and one for face.
You can try them for two months, and if you don't get on with them you can send them back!
I can't remember the make, but they are supposed to be very good.

Sorry - not drops - but hyaluronic tanning serum, by Tan-luxe, £30.
Saving of £50 (I think!)

Mattsmum2 Tue 08-Jun-21 08:23:03

I’ve ordered the clarins drops!

FannyCornforth Tue 08-Jun-21 08:30:18

Mattsmum ages ago I bought the Clarins facial tan. It was a gel. It was excellent. I used the same bottle for years (it was before all this business about chucking stuff out after its been open for a week)

I have just discovered dove fake tan, goes on easily, doesn't streak it only has a slight smell

PinkCosmos Wed 09-Jun-21 11:32:14

Skinny Tan now do a coconut mist tan. I haven't used it, just read abut it. The reviews were good.

Visgir1 Wed 09-Jun-21 13:36:08

Mattsmum2 just seen your question.
I use anything as a base body lotion I have used for last few years. They work perfect for me.
I suppose different skins could have different results? but I find very natural and not smelly.

The drops that you add to moisturiser are very good. I use Isle of Paradise. Not that cheap but they last for ages. The main benefit over other self tan products is that there is virtually none of that horrible fake tan smell especially if you mix it into a strongly perfumed moisturiser. I mix mine with a coconut moisturiser and that works well.

I use palmers self tan which gives a slow build up of tan and does not streak . Just rub in well and apply daily for a few days or as and when. It really works for me!

Soozikinzi Wed 09-Jun-21 15:10:37

Another vote for skinny tan . The coconut one smells nice as well!

dragonfly46 Wed 09-Jun-21 15:21:38

Skinny tan are doing two for one with the most expensive item free at the moment. I have just ordered some and got a free mitt as well.

Thanks I’ve ordered and will try it with my Nivea body lotion ?

Reporting back. Bought the Clarins drops for the body and used them on my legs. I now have a very nice even tan on my lower legs after just 2 days.

May I ask why you don’t simply allow sunshine onto your legs ladies?
The Vitamin D is essential for your health and getting out in the fresh air is good for your mental health.
I am not suggesting sunbathing, just working in the garden, putting out the laundry or going for a stroll in the park.
I would never consider rubbing those chemicals onto my skin to be absorbed into my bloodstream.
