You don't say what make of laptop you have or OS. Please supply system details.

Thanks Mary It's just happened again! Very frustrated.

i just wonder whether there are any other buttons along the edge of the laptop, i had one once (toshiba)that had a volume wheel on the left hand front edge of the laptop which were out of the way when it was on a desk but I imagine i could have knocked if i were on my sofa.

dont know if that will help, but hope you get better soon.

Only answer I have is the one the techies always have - reboot and reboot....

Yes, ana didn't get the right word, thanks. smile

The sound on most things is less than I would like and I have done all the tweaks my son who works in IT has suggested. It must be me!

Sorry, can't help either - I deactivated the touchpad because we didn't use it and DH kept catching it when he used the laptop. Is that what you mean by inbuilt mouse?

Movedalot Mon 04-Feb-13 18:42:08

Wish I had an answer for you flower. Is the sound OK for everything else?

flowerfriend Mon 04-Feb-13 18:35:48

I'd liketo give it a shove or 'bump' too as I seem to have unwittingly done something to make the sound on videos, almost inaudible.

Bumped in the hope that someone can help me please

Although I cannot help with your problem moved I can commiserate with you as the inbuilt mouse on my laptop has a mind of it's own.confused

Since I've had this back problem I've been forced to spend a lot of time lying on the sofa. As as result I have been using my laptop with the inbuilt mouse rather than the separate optical mouse I use at my desk. I keep doing something which turns the sound up to full and puts a loudspeaker and bar at the bottom of my screen. That is OK but it freezes my mouse and the only way I can find to get rid of it is to switch off.

If anyone can tell me what I am doing to cause this I will be most grateful and if they can also tell me how to get out of it without switching off that would be really helpful. I am usually pretty good with technology but this one seems to have caught me out.
