Afternoon all, I have a hudl and bought a book from Kobo, the Hudl reading app. (Really enjoying reading it!)

Now, question. I have seen several really cheap ebooks on Amazon, would I be able read them on my Hudl, or do I need to download an app?

Thanks in advance.

To download books from Amazon you need the Kindle app, which is free. I don't know the Hudl but on my iPad I read books on kindle, kobo and iBooks. I log into Kobo as my daughter and that way we can share books, and the cost of them.

I have a hudl but have never heard of Kobo!
I have the Kindle app on it to get books from Amazon, also Overdrive for borrowing ebooks from the local library (yes, we still have one of those).

phoenix please do not buy the "quick reads" which Kindle has to offer. Very few are worth the money and one can read them in no time at all. I have only found one to date with a decent story line.

I have a stack of around 10 books on my Kindle which were free. I agree, many are very cheap and if you look on line by googling Amazon- maybe that is what you did- the sky is the limit I find.

I've bought all of my books for my Kindle from Amazon, about 70 so far, most were free, some were 99p or thereabouts. I would recommend that you read the reviews of any book from an author that you are unfamiliar with, and I buy nothing with a star rating of less than 4/5.

Also, you can - at least with the Kindle - sync to your iphone which is really handy to catch up on a few pages here and there smile

Thank you all for the replies, much appreciated!

I have downloaded the app, and 2 free books!

Admittedly 1 was by accident blush but never mind.

I also use Bookbub which is variable in the quality of books offered. If I don't know the author sometimes they are self published and can be pretty dreadful . If the publisher prices a book at £8.99 and then a special offer for 99p it may well be a good buy, sometimes it's the second in a series to get you hooked if you see what I mean.
