A new online scam

Sending email delivery notifications for goods you haven't ordered. I have had a spate of these over the last few days. the first from a company I have dealt with in the past.

Today I was sent delivery details for an item costing well over £100. I am ignoring them all, but holding them in a separate folder, just in case any of the goods arrive.

No doubt the scammer is hoping I will try and contact them to cancel or query the order.

Not heard of this one before. Thanks for the heads-up M0nica

Yes, thank you. I had no idea about this.

Oh we get these all the time at work M0nica and sometimes they look so credible it's hard to know whether they're genuine or not . I have had several "invoices" for good supposedly received too. You have to be so careful what you open.

Yes I had one this morning, telling me I’d ordered some shoes from Clark’s.
Deleted it.

The delivery details email I have received is long, immensely complicated and convincing and has numerous places where I could be inveigled to click without thinking. It looks as if they could have taken a delivery template from a large reputable store and then adjusted it to suit.

I am usually fairly on the ball with these scam emails, but the detail and complexity of this email - and the fact that I hadn't ordered the goods concerned made me look at it very carefully.

Apparently I ordered a fitbit and paid via paypal and it's on it's way.
Interesting, I don't have paypal or even on line banking smile

I have had two storage emails purporting to come from Apple - the first saying they need to confirm banking details for my extra ICloud storage - 99 cents a month - so I ignored that as I know the last payment went through and then a second email on the day the payment was due saying they could not take it and again follow a link. There is no reason for me think that there is anything wrong at the bank so will wait till the statement arrives. Or my information is deleted because they have downgraded my account storage.
Any other Apple users had anything similar?

I got an e mail from Apple yesterday to say that I'd ordered Netflix @£35.99 per month ! I'm off to check with my bank tomorrow ! I'm not an Apple or Netflix user . I'm really worried .

It happened to one of my friends. I think it is wise to cancel the order.
