Dash cams are a good idea, we have one following two nasty incidents with foreign lorries.

meant to say it was DD car Reg that was wrong, also the insurance company that the other driver is with are a company that specializes in drivers that have been disqualified etc etc.

Although my little car is an oldie I shall be investing in a moderately priced dashcam! Of course it will also record if I am in the wrong as well!

Just been brought to light the other week when DD had minor bump on local roundabout.

One if she had had a dashcam it would have proved she was sin the right lane and correct postion on the roundabout.

Briefly the other person came and nudged her on her Offside, minor damage, they both pulled in at the side.

He big bloke became aggressive! no one stopped as was in very busy place on roundabout.

He said sorry etc etc and he will pay her money etc.

Late in evening Dd gets phone call from wife saying they will pay for damage etc Dd doesn't say anything.

Over night the aggressive man decides he has got whiplash! bruising to the neck and that his car may be a right off! and is trying to claim £10,000 damages!

Dd has now to prove she didn't go into him, ther's no ctv (or rather there is but as usual didn't capture the moment)

I do believe it was done deliberately but of course cannot prove it.

So what I am trying to say is a dashcam may help if you were involved in and accident. Although on my dd occasion it may have captured it as it was slight side nudge but the camera could possibly have captured the car being nudged.

Insurers are offering reduced discount apparently if you have a dash cam but I suppose that it has to be a certain model etc.

The comes the insurance, when my dd rang up to report the accident. The Reg number was wrong on the certificate it had a K at the end instead of and X or other way round.

It seemed at first her car was never insured! as the number plate was on a totally diff model.
Thankfully it was sorted out but it made me go and check my own insurance and reg plate.

We all get our documents through either post or email but do we read through them thoroughly I know I will from now on!
