TVs need retuning

Couldn’t get BBC News HD tonight it said on the screen No Signal. After about an hour plugging, unplugging, trying old TVs etc, I suddenly remembered a friend saying that TVs in the south east needed retuning on 21 March as work was being done on Freeview stations. Anyway after a lot of huffing and puffing, plus retuning by me, everything working again except the news in HD. Hope when I get up tomorrow all will be sorted.

So if you have a problem try retuning.

I don't know how to retune blush
I have a message about it too.
I was trying to ignore it and hope it would go away.

We did both of ours this morning but it’s just come up again so I’m not sure if it worked.

Had conversation with my dad about this last week, he was trying to do it through his recording box, explained it had to be on the telly and my OH showed him how to find auto tune.
Then he had to do ours on Monday when he realised there were channels we were missing.

You just go into your menu and then click on reset channels and follow instructions MissAdventure

I had to retune mine two weeks ago. I went to the Freeview web-site, FAQs and followed the advice given. It seems to have worked as I have acquired a 'Manchester' channel which wasn't there before.

Every time I see the title of this thread I read it as "TVs need returning" and think that we have gone back to the days of Radio Rentals. Oh dear, should put the reading glasses on. hmm

Wheniwasyourage, I'm wearing the same glasses. smile

Or not, as the case may be.

I hate watching BBC news HD as we don't get the local news and have to turn over to the normal channel.

I have to re-tune my TV and my Humax recorder. It is very easy to follow the instructions on the menus. The annoying part is that my box then loses all my pre-set series for future recording, of which I have many. I therefore copy out the list and reprogram it after retuning.

Shysal, I've only just noticed your post. I have posted re a sound problem since retuning. Have you had any problems? Of course, it could be that DH has twiddled the settings, but he says not. grin
