Thanks for that suggestion - unfortunately all the solutions they propose assume that you have Norton on your computer - which I don't!

This morning, after I reset the browser, so far I am Norton-free - fingers crossed!

If you google Norton pop up. There is a lot of advice about them. Sorry I haven't read it all but hope you can find a solution.

Dear Maw B . I so agree about James Norton. I might watch the Profumo thing simply because he's in it.
Also admire Mark Rylance who was so good in Bridge of Spies. The moment on the bridge when he said " I can wait" was epic.
With regard to pop ups I haven't a clue. A lot of things on computers need to be ignored.

It is disabled!! - hence my confusion. I have tried resetting the browser but still they appear.

Just disable Pop-up in your browser.

Wish I could help but I am reminded of wise (?) words I read once
“Never trust a computer you cannot throw out of the window”

I have suddenly started getting pop-ups on my laptop from Norton anti-virus. I do not have Norton on here at all - I have checked through the apps.

The pop-ups tell me my Norton (non-existent!) is expiring today. There is no way of getting rid of the pop-up - it has no little cross on it, and if you say hello to it in any way it opens on a bigger window - at which point I close it while it is in the act of loading - so it is never actually opened. But a few minutes later, back it comes.

I have malwarebytes installed by the person who set the laptop up, so I do have the necessary protection. But I do not want Norton!

The other day I had a similar un-close-downable one from Bitcoin.

Any ideas?
