Hello all,

I cannot send or receive emails on my Fire tablet, keeps saying Authentication failed confused and asking for passwword!

Desktop pc working fine, as is my phone, but I really need to be able to use my tablet for emails for work etc.

Any bright ideas?

Thank you!

If you manage to change your password on the Fire, your email won't work on your other devices.

Are you absolutely sure you have entered the password absolutely correctly, they know the difference between capital and lower case and a space is part of a password. When you enter a password, there is usually a little symbol at the end of the line, sometimes looks like a closed eye, if you select that, you can see what you typed and check for mistakes.

If you get locked out, you will have to reset your password on all your other devices too. Let us know what happens.

I'm guessing that you've already turned it off and on again? hmm

Turning off and on again was the first thing I did!

I keep passwords in a special book, and note if letters are upper or lower case, so it should be correct.

Could you have used tapped Caps by mistake when typing? Or used a zero instead of an O?

If you are certain you have the password right, you could delete the email account on the Kindle Fire, close the Fire properly (shut it right down), wait a couple of minutes, then open the Fire and add your email account again.

If that doesn’t work, you will have to reset your password for that email account and change it on all your devices.

Probably quicker to change passwords on all devices rather than spend time trying to sort out the errant devic.

To force a reset hold the power button in for 40 seconds. It should be back as it was when turned back on.

I stopped using the email function on my fire tablet for just that reason phoenix. Nothing I did would work.
I have Gmail on my phone and samsung tablet, so dont really need it on the fire.

If you haven’t already done so download the gmail/yahoo etc app.
I’ve done this before and everything has miraculously appeared via the app n

Are you able to log in online? My husband has this issue periodically on his phone and gets so frustrated with it! It works when he (or more likely me!) logs into his online account but the phone seems to work though g mail (even though this isn't his main e-mail provider). We usually have to change the password via the online account and re-enter it on his phone, PC and tablet although when it happened last week it came back on it's own the next day so he didn't need to do anything.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply, I do appreciate it.

I really do need email access on the tablet!
