Is this really from PayPal or is it another scam

You are right to just ignore it. If you think there may be a problem, contact PayPal direct.

I've had several of these, some may well have been from Paypal but can't ever be certain.
For your own safety, don't ever click on the link. I have had erroneous amounts debited from my account and it takes an age to sort. Paypal is not secure and not very helpful.

Go directly into your Paypal account via your browser and check all your information is current and updated.

I often get emails from Pay Pal, I never open them as I have never used it, and do not have an account.
I am very wary of mails like that.

I never open any mails from them either - just delete — I have an account but there is only one person - DS- I ever send to. I always think that if there is a problem I will see it when I log on and will deal with it then.

I also don't have an account so it is obviously a scam.

I had a similar email from "Paypal" a couple of weeks ago, and discovered on the actual Paypal website that these phishing emails can be forwarded to [email protected] and can then be deleted.

It seems like one I got 'from Amazon' saying Amazon had taken £79 from my bank and talk to "the manager" to learn more.

PS it was not a email, was a phone call.

Report it to Paypal.

Firstly, PayPal always address you by your name if they contact you, scammers don't.

The next step is to log onto your your account to check, they don't ask you to click links.

Yes, Paypal are dreadful but very pervasive across all sales platforms. Originally owned by Ebay but hived off I believe into a separate company probably for tax purposes. Headquarters in Liechtenstein I think.
I've had my account hacked in the past and Paypal is slow to react. The power and reach of Paypal has grown exponentially and has gone largely unnoticed by Governments.
Be very wary and regularly change passwords I'd say.
