iOS 14 problem

Downloaded this today. It insisted on taking me through set up stages but gave me an option to complete in settings. When I go to settings it offers me Apple Pay which I definitely do not want and yet you can’t get past it. My iPad keeps asking me to complete settings and I have to keep selecting to do it later. Next to settings on the home page there is a number one showing that I need to do something. Has anyone any idea how I can complete the setting up without being “bullied” into Apple Pay? I would be grateful for any help.

I downloaded yesterday, didn’t get this, but was swiftly followed by a fix to load, switch device off/on?

I think, lovetopaint, that any card entered is also used for iTunes purchases. The card can be removed by tapping wallet and Apple pay in settings, click on the arrow to the right of the card and at the bottom is an option to remove the card. Hope that helps.

Thank you cornergran that is reassuring. I have my card registered with Apple as I pay for extra storage at 79p a month although This is taken from “in store credit” which is an iTunes purchased card.
Jaxjacky were you required to have Apple Pay or perhaps you have it already? I will now try turning it on/off. Forgot about that and always worth a go! Thank you.

Thank you GrannyGravy it is good to have company. I will also ignore it as definitely do not want Apple Pay.
Hildagard I have iPhone 7 and I downloaded it okay. It was actually advertised in the Apps app. Could you try turning off and on perhaps to refresh it. Or if you google it and then it should take you directly into the Apple App Store and the app you want.

That message about setting up has gone as I think it gave up on me as I kept saying“later”.

I've disabled auto updates because of the myriad problems associated with IOS 14. Rapid battery drain is one, overheating while charging has also been reported. Problems with the Apple watch too, but that fortunately is a problem I don't have! Apple have published workarounds, which involve backing up to the iCloud, unpairing the phone and watch (if you have one), then completely resetting everything on both devices and downloading from the cloud again.

Well there's no way I want to have to go through all that, so I shan't be updating until Apple have fixed all the bugs.

iOS 14 is out, and with regards to the subject of 2020, things are rough. Extremely rough. There are issues in abundance. From execution issues, battery issues, UI slacks, console falters, crashes, issues with applications, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth availability troubles.
