The rules in Gemany are: either weight 30 kilos or height 150cms these children can sit normally in cars. They need the weight for the safety belt to react.

Booster seats are not recommened but are not against the law either. I never used them.My youngest is now ten 32 kilos and I don't need any seats.
Could be different in the UK . Better google.

Sorry Floradora9, I was only trying to help! I'll get my coat.

The seats they use will be are hundreds of miles away Badenkate. WE swop the seats into our car when we visit them but they are not bringing their car .

When our GC arrive with us, they arrive with seats - which go back with them when they leave.

New legislation due soon (? October) says all children under a certain age or height must be transported in car seats with back and head supports
AsBadenkate says can you not use the seats from the family car ?

You can see some which reports without being a member and a trial membership only costs £1

Can't you use the seats they normally use? Whenever we transported DGC when they were smaller we always borrowed the seats as well.

Have a look at this government site. My DD has four children all under 10. They all still have car seats with full back and head restraints. She doesn't trust them to be safe with booster seats. I think they got theirs from Halfords.

Our two DGC will be visiting us without the parent's car so we are looking for either booster seats or car seats for only occasional use . We do not want to have to spend a fortune ( been there for baby seats ) but want them to be safe . I am not a member of Which so cannot look there . Any ideas ?
