I am going on an overnight coach trip break based around the Liverpool area in a couple of weeks. We shall be seeing the Strictly tour at the arena in Liverpool in the evening. We get dropped by the Arena before the show with time to eat. I have had a look online at places to eat. A few places are booked up. I wonder if anyone can recommend anywhere not too far away please. I do know Liverpool a little bit but not around that area and don’t want to end up too far away.

I am Liverpudlian but rarely go into town but here are some restaurants near Arena I have been to. Maray Albert Dock Middle Eastern Yotam Ottolenghi style food and delicious. What’s Cooking Tex Mex meaty menu The Smugglers Cove traditional English fish chips pies etc and flavours from abroad. George’s Great British Kitchen further away in Paradise street is nice posh fish chips salads etc reasonably priced. Bon Pan Clayton square buffet restaurant world food choice is endless. Casa Italia Stanley street nice food best to book gets busy. We met our daughter at the museum of Liverpool life recently ate there for lunch was ok but wasn’t that impressed. I hope your enjoy your day out.

Pre covid regularly used to go to Liverpool with our group of 8 ladies of a certain age and have never gone wrong with our favourite place - Hanover Street Social on Hanover St.
Set menu is great value at around £15 and lovely staff.

Thank you I will check those suggestions out.

I was going to suggest Hanover Street Social and see that Nannee49 already had. So I second that! We had lunch there last November and will definitely return on our next visit to Liverpool.

I'd also suggest the Philharmonic, beautiful building and really lovely food every time I've visited.

Our daughter also loves Hanover Street Social although we haven't been.

Long walk from the arena though

Thank you again. I have looked at a few and also picked a few out from trip advisor reviews. I’ll send to my friend to see which she prefers.
Dee1012 yes you are right about the Philharmonic. Have been in there on a previous visit and it is too far when time is possibly quite tight.
