Was really looking forward to this, great cast and sounded so promising. Alas, not a patch on Our Friends from the North, which was brilliant, and not even fun like This Life. Very confusing, not helped by all the early stuff being filmed in such low lighting. I couldn't get involved in any of the characters, and as for the unspeakable Jack ......

I am finding it hard to follow I think I will watch the next episode and if no improvement will ditch it,I also dislike the low lighting in the early 60s scenes.

Just watched the last episode on iPlayer, friend from france staying so could not watch the broadcast. Well, it all finished up in a great swirl of drama didn't it, including those ghastly close ups of eyes and lips, but somehow I never got really engaged with the characters or cared much about them. A great disappointment all round. My fears for Orla, the only really nice one of the lot, were only too well founded!
