I'm hopping mad !! Firstly this evening I've sat through half of Antiques Roadshow before realising that it was a repeat (2010). No mention of this at the start of the program and not any notification in the printed programming. Next up, Countryfile - a few pieces about the Lake District with the rest of the program consisting of cobbled together pieces from past programs.

Can somebody explain to me why the BBC has 4 channels when it appears it has problems with filling two?!

Summer? hmm

Our licence fee obviously only covers the winter months.

Do you think Gn is suffering from the same thing.

I'm loving tonight's tv - currently watching Rich Hall's You can go to hell, I'm going to Texas, then will watch The Returned which I have recorded.

My alternative to The White Queen is Rise of the Continents. Very interesting.

Thanks for reminding me about Rich Hall; he mentioned this programme when we saw his show a few weeks back. It's being repeated on Tuesday I think, so I'll catch it then!

It's great isn't it anno and the presenters collection of blue shirts, nearly always worn with a white vest underneath are a hoot.
Once he wore a peach coloured one. Presume luggage went astray. grin

Thanks to unexciting programmes on the main channels DH and his magic remote found us two wonderful Andre Rieu concerts, which we watched back to back - cheered us up no end. sunshine

I know of many who find Andre Rieu concerts uplifting. My sister has all of them recorded and her face is a joy to see when watching them. I also will catch up with the Rich Hall program - as it comes recommended!!

I'm not taken with The White Queen after all the advertising hype there are no decent drama's on at all,I always watch Countryfile and like Adams Farm with his specialist herds but all from other episodes last night very poor indeed.

Well I'm still glued to the White Queen. Not always completely sure what's going on, but I'm getting there.

And all those gorgeous fellers! Why am I more attracted to Warwick the Kingmaker?! [swoon]

Maybe it's the designer stubble, jingle. We'll probably be seeing the last him next week though. sad

I have to keep diving into the book to check on the Beauforts. I'd forgotten about Margaret's brother.

I'm hooked on the Returned - not really sure what's going on but it's compulsive confused

mollie Mon 01-Jul-13 17:33:41

Someone told me about The Returned today and it sounds fascinating... May have to wait for he DVD to come out at the end of the month...

vegasmags Mon 01-Jul-13 18:19:30

Mollie - all the episodes so far of The Returned are still available at 4oD. I don't know how long they will be there, but are alive and kicking at this moment as I just checked it out for you.

mollie Mon 01-Jul-13 18:39:58

Very kind of you Vegasmags...will take a look ...smile

I seem to remember that when Lost was being shown, people were putting forward their ideas of what it was about. Has anyone got any ideas as to what The Returned is about?

Deedaa Tue 02-Jul-13 17:54:15

Sunday night is pretty dire, but I did laugh at James May strapped on that dreadful yacht for twelve hours.

vegasmags Tue 02-Jul-13 18:40:28

The Returned also seem to have overtones of Twin Peaks - no-one seemed to work that one out either. That spooky little boy gives me the creeps [scared emoticon]

Thoroughly enjoyed sunday evenings viewing, the white queen - I,m liking, finished off with mumford and sons at glastonburyx

Tegan Fri 09-Oct-15 14:43:31

Bumping this up as have finally finished reading The White Queen so am watching the dvd [which didn't like first time round] and thoroughly enjoying it. Still confused as to who's who though confused. What put me off was that it all seemed too far fetched but have now realised that it is pretty much based on fact [albeit loosely]. And The returned is returning, although I can't remember what happened in the first series.
