Has anyone else caught this? It's on the Discovery Channel of all places and about the lives of two childhood best friends, Bill and Epstein, in the late 1890s as they flock to the gold rush capital in the untamed Yukon Territory. This man-versus-nature tale places our heroes in a land full of undiscovered wealth, but ravaged by harsh conditions, unpredictable weather and desperate, dangerous characters including greedy businessmen, seductive courtesans and native tribes witnessing the destruction of their people and land by opportunistic entrepreneurs.

Although there are some holes you could pick in it (some of the frontier wimmenfolk look as if they are dressed by Top Shop), I wanted to watch it, because of it being Discovery Channel's first venture into mini-series, and we're really enjoying it so far.

Oh meant to say Tim Roth is in it, as the "baddy" land owner.

There was a tv serial of the same name in the 50s/60s. I used to love it!

Also has to once gorgeous Sam Shephard in it - he's aged quite well but in this he has wild hair smile.

I love epic tales of derring do set against majestic backdrops of sweeping landscape, and this fits that bill. Well so far anyway (2 episodes in).
