Anyone been to see the new James Bond film? We went last night, as it's just opened and half term the cinema was heaving.
Yet again, it was great fun, full of dare devil amongst splendid scenery. Daniel Craig is excellent and I would judge that the entire audience enjoyed a couple of hours of make believe! grin

Oh good I'm really looking forward to this - hope to go next week.

We went yesterday too. Absolutely loved it. I think that the whole James Bond franchise went very stale in the Roger Moore years. "From A View to A Kill" was absolutely silly and "Octopussy" not much better. Things improved slightly with Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan, but really came back to life with Daniel Craig.

I'm going on Saturday, really looking forward to it after these reviews!

I enjoyed it too, even though it was a tad too long for me.

They seemed to put everything in it from previous JB films, I'm not sure what is left for the future, but I am sure they will think of something. smile

I took GS(10) this evening - he loved it!

I'm not a big fan but I must say that the 2 hours 20 minutes went by quickly ... it's non-stop action with a constant loud soundtrack.

DH &DS2 went this evening and enjoyed it. I went instead to see a very good amateur production of Pirates of Penzance (in Tavistock). I can't do with JB, sorry Bond fans. I don't enjoy car chase films and find the 'humour' dated and sexist, unless it has changed a lot in recent years.

We went to see Spectre this morning (what else would you do with a foggy Monday morning?) the cinema was empty which was great. I thought it was the best Bond so far and the strange soundtrack fitted it perfectly.

I'm going to see it tomorrow at the IMAX in Bradford. I can't wait.

Our cinema has been heaving too. Everyone seems to like it.

Hoping to go tomorrow morning ... looking forwards to it..

Saw it last night at a fancy new Picturehouse Cinema in London - the seats recline so I was worried I'd fall asleep but no chance of that with the action and the soundtrack!

I loved it.

Especially because my carefully positioned sound reduction earplugs cut the volume down by half grin

DH loved it, DD enjoyed the first 5 minutes then said it wasn't as good as previous JB films (she's seen them all!)
I want to see 'The Lady in the Van' smile

I went to see it weekend after it was released. It was my first James Bond movie. I managed to stay awake which is a good sign for me. Wasnt bored but sadly I just find the whole James Bond thing just a bit silly. Sorry. Also looking forward to seeing 'The Lady in the Van' tomorrow, much more my type of movie

You do get about the country vampirequeen grin more than I do anyway.
Will go and see this next week if possible, DH enjoys a Bond movie.

My son took me as a birthday treat. We had VIP seats and I did enjoy it although I can never see a film without having forty (or perhaps just twenty) winks. I thought it was one of the better Bond films, with a good few references to Bond films of the past - especially at the end.

oh dear - I am the odd one out. We went yesterday and to be honest, it didn't hold my attention and I didn't really enjoy it. I don't like car chases, helicopter chases etc. I found it much too long. Prefer the Sean Connery ones! But I did like Ben Wishaw though!

suemac Fri 20-Nov-15 11:02:06

Didn't really enjoy it and found it far too loud. Our local cinema has been refurbished though and we had really comfortable seats with extra leg room!! So will keep an eye on what's coming next although Star Wars isn't really my thing!

Greyduster Fri 20-Nov-15 11:03:02

We have still to see it, as we were both down with large when it came out. I expect it'll be on for a bit at one or other of our cinemas yet. I loved Skyfall. GS (8) says he is 'taking me' to see the new Star Wars film when it comes out. "You have to come Nanny, it's going to be awesome! I'll take you." Well, what can a girl say? In truth, I'm looking forward to it; I've loved all of them so far.

Greyduster Fri 20-Nov-15 11:03:42

Not 'large' - lurgy!!!!

Wheniwasyourage Fri 20-Nov-15 18:56:06

Just seen it and enjoyed it. Haven't seen most of the Daniel Craig ones, but we intend to now. Hated the bit with the eyes though - I wouldn't have given it a 12A certificate.
