I used to sort of enjoy this program, but have started to think that he is now laying it on a bit for the cameras, could be wrong, often am.

Plus am I imagining it, or does his hair seem to have got a bit darker? hmm

His hair is darker. I noticed it on The One Show t'other night. Something about the show is a bit off putting, I can't quite put my finger on what it is. I also used to watch it.

I watch but last night I thought that poor dog that was eventually euthanised was put through far too much and he should of called it much sooner no matter how upset the owners were. His hair is far too black.

I watch occasionally and think the man is a genius and absolutely committed to his work, but I have recently felt the programme has become a bit 'same-y'. Lots of spinal repairs on dogs and hip joints being remodelled. I find Vet on the Hill offers more variety which makes for more interesting viewing.

I like The Yorkshire Vet. Real James Herriot stuff.

Love Vet on the Hill !!

I love the Yorkshire vet too!
Supervet Noel has made a few TV appearances on other programmes too, he's becoming a celebrity.
hmm

Yorkshire vets for me every time. I clearly should have married Peter!! Julian is just too young, sadly!!!!

You're right, Noel is playing up to the cameras a bit now and is becoming a celebrity, but in a way isn't this good a good thing to encourage people's interest in such worthwhile causes? He is very proactive in organising events, helping animal charities and involving children in his work. In this day and age the new generation takes more notice of someone who presents well on tv and even someone who updates his appearance.

This is probably a bit unkind but I have always found him slightly creepy.

I sort of agree with you Katy

nigglynellie Sun 07-May-17 10:29:37

I always slightly wonder, not my business of course, but the cost of all these treatments offered by Super Vet must be collossal! Presumably people's pet insurance covers it, ours certainly wouldn't, the premiums would be far too costly, or maybe appearance on TV helps!!!

Lillie Sun 07-May-17 10:44:12

I thought that too, nigglynellie. Our insurance would cover us up to £2,500 which is nowhere near the amount of those operations.

Katek you are so right about the boxer, I would have called it before then if it was one of my dogs. Noel is a bit of a drama queen now but there is no getting away from his skill and inventiveness. He loves animals that's not just for show.
I love the Yorkshire Vet he is so understated, typical yorkshireman.

TriciaF Sun 07-May-17 11:39:37

When you see the equipment he has it's not much different from that in hospitals for humans. Then think how much eg your hip replacement cost - the animal's could be similar.

Definitely coloured hair, and not very subtle!

Also, sort of got used to him saying " (pet name) mum and dad",
but the voice over referring to "pets names parents instead of owners is rather OTT!
