I have a problem with watching actors/actresses that are in more than one series at a time. As Miandra [sp] is in Ripper Street at the moment I'll have to wait till that finishes and then watch In The Dark on catchup. Strange, really, because I can happily watch actors/actresses in films without it bothering me confused.

Both Mr C and I enjoyed episode one - a minor miracle in itself.

Which tv channel BlueBelle ?

I enjoyed it as well. I do hope the police couple remain together and don't encounter the predictable marriage threatening scriptwriting although I don't hold out much hope.

At the moment it's a change from, 'Your career's ruining our relationship so I'm off to shag the woman down the road'

They actually laugh together and he stood up for her when his misogynist mate made an inappropriate remark.

Can't last hmm

I read the book a couple of years ago, being a great Mark Billingham fan. I can remember some, but not all, of the plot, so will keep on watching. I knew that Mark Billingham had a small cameo role in the drama, I only caught a quick glimpse, but I think he was the court usher, can anyone tell me if I`m right?

I enjoyed the first episode, started much better than the last couple of new series I watched a couple weeks ago (The Loch and another I cannot remember name) so hope it carries on like that.

The "bit on the side" who appeared at the end is the sidekick from Vera, liked him in that.

I started to watch but discovered within 5 minutes that at present I am reading the book with a different title so I stopped watching- I would prefer to read the book as I am 3/4 way through it.

goose1964 Wed 12-Jul-17 09:59:03

I enjoyed it too but the main character saying them instead of those made me want to shout a the TV

Christinefrance Wed 12-Jul-17 12:32:32

I enjoyed the first episode too. I have read another book featuring Helen Weeks and I had imagined her quite differently. Didn't spoil my enjoyment though.

ninathenana Wed 12-Jul-17 13:09:14

Tegan2 it's My Anna

I enjoyed it too. Was it just me who thinks young Linda in the flash backs looks like a bloke in drag ? smile

felice Wed 12-Jul-17 13:48:04

I was enjoying it last night until the "is it my baby" bit, and I just thought, here we go again. I will stick with it but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Thanks BlueBelle smile

Just watched on catchup, looks good. Have not seen the lead actress before. I have read the book and remember the name of the lead character but I'm blowed if I remember the storyline. Makes it all the more exciting!

Jalima1108 Wed 12-Jul-17 20:59:51

She was in Downton as well Alima but perhaps you didn't watch that.

I realised that I have read a couple Mark Billingham books but imagined her differently - did one or more of his books feature her partner more prominently?

Iam64 Wed 12-Jul-17 22:25:35

I watched on catch up tonight, I felt like felice at the is it my baby point. Not all coppers have tortured personal lives honest !

travelsafar Sun 23-Jul-17 08:24:47

I watched this on catch up last night and found myself wishing it would hurry up and reveal the obvious abuse she had experienced. I felt it was too long and drawn out.
Also when they were in the old pump house i kept thinking would they not have called for back up under the circumstances before going inside the room.

Grannyknot Sun 23-Jul-17 08:36:34

travel I'm not watching this, series, but it seems as if in all TV cop shows the first rule is not to call for back-up going into dangerous situations. smile

travelsafar Thu 27-Jul-17 07:43:24

Wow i am gripped now, her partner seemed such a great guy and i felt so sorry for him because of her behaviour, now there is a twist in the story and i am not sure if he was so nice or a bit shady!!!! Cant wait for next weeks episode.

kittylester Thu 27-Jul-17 07:54:25

I love it! Are there more books?

Yes he was the usher callgirl. He seems like a nice bloke and he likes country music!

Auntieflo Thu 27-Jul-17 08:40:03

we're watching and enjoying this, although I wasn't sure about Myanna Buring as Helen, but she seems to be doing alright. I have read quite a few Mark Billingham books, but the pathologist chap, isn't at all as I imagined him. he's supposed to be pierced and tattooed, and has a new one, tattoo that is, for each of his 'conquests'.

ninathenana Thu 27-Jul-17 08:48:50

Is he as camp in the book Auntieflo ?

Christinefrance Thu 27-Jul-17 08:51:14

I agree AuntieFlo neither Hendricks or Weeks are as I thought they would be, I need to forget the books and enjoy the series, think I like this second story better than the first.

callgirl1 Thu 27-Jul-17 17:46:04

I was surprised at Hendricks as well, expected a much tougher looking bloke.
