Bake Off - how was it for you?

I decided (though I felt "disloyal" somehow!) to watch the "new" Bake Off. It didn't see that "new" at first, what with the familiar theme music, tent and PH being there. They even kept to the same format so as not to put people off. I made sure to record it so that I could watch it an hour later without the annoying adverts.

On the whole, I enjoyed it because I have always loved to see the new baking creations and flavour combinations that competitors produce. I was pleased that the judges expalined why a particular recipe/challenge would be difficult and how it could go wrong but I can't make up my mind about having Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding there as I have never associated them with "domesticity".

What did others think?

Sorry - meant "seem", not "see"!

I enjoyed it , it has the same format because it is the same production team , it was never made by the bbc , they bought it in

Against all expectation - actually that's not fair but I was being belligerently loyal to Mary - I though Prue was terrific. Missed Mel and Sue though

I like Prue too but like you Cari I missed Mel and Sue. The humour from Sandi and Noel seemed forced and I think they might have been better off just being themselves instead of trying to emulate the previous style.

Ill watch a bit more but to be fair I think Noel looks and sounds totally out of place so this might drop off my watching schedule.smile

I was never a Mary Berry fan and find Mel and Sue as funny as a wet weekend so I'm very happy with the new lineup ,and the new baking talent..could be a good series
