Watching this week's episode I was delighted to see the owner of the hotel in question being taken to Lindeth Fell Hotel to see how they do it so well . The idea was to let the couple see how going for B & B alone can work. We used to love Lindeth Fell and went there for years until they stopped doing evening meals . Who wants to have to get in the car and drive somewhere to eat ? Having a drink as well is impossible so we have stopped going though we were greeted like long lost frinds every time we went . Sheena who now runs it is the daughter of the couple who first bought it to run as a hotel . How do others feel about evening meals if you have to drive to find one ?

I feel the same as you. That place looked lovely and I pencilled it in for a possible visit but we'll go elsewhere if we have go out again for dinner. It's so much nicer to be able to relax with a drink and just pop to your room after a leisurely evening.

Sorry, I thought B&B was just that. Some places may serve an evening meal as an add on but if you want full board then an hotel is the way to go.

Unless there is a decent pub that does food within a short walk, or other restaurants close by, then I’m afraid I’d go to an Hotel as well.

sodapop the point was that it used to be a hotel but decided to be a B&B. That may be a commercial risk for that place which obviously has long term returning guests who expect a dining room.
