9/11 'The Falling Man '

I watched this on playback last night.
I had forgotten the impact this photo had when it happened.
There was a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes and I felt it was good that it was shown to remind us of the terrible terror attack that took place and to remember all those poor people who died in such an awful way.sad

We should never forget 9/11.

We were fortunate enough to eat in the restaurant at the top of the Tower, and I found the images broadcast that day traumatic.

We have since been back to visit the memorial and the museum they have made, so moving, tasteful and poignant

GrannyGravy we too were at the Towers many years ago when our daughter was 6, it was great day. We too have also revisited the memorial and thought it was so moving. When I saw the terrible pictures being shown live on TV of 9/11 it's a vision I will never ever forget. It was a terrible terror attack and one we should never forget and the innocent people who lost their lives that awful day.

I found the little church at the site of the twin towers very moving. They said it survived the blasts as it was protected by huge trees. Beds (which they refer to as cots) were set up for the relief workers to rest when they were totally exhausted. One of the beds was still there when we visited, along with flags and messages from all over the world. There was a choir singing when we were there. It was heartbreaking.
