I'm starting this new thread as apparently our other one was over a year old!! shock

We'll have to do more gossiping to prevent this happening again.

Here's a link to the old one.

Just listened on BBC Sounds to ‘With Great Pleasure’ first broadcast at 7am on Christmas morning, a special Archers edition. All kinds of interesting sidelights on both the actors and their characters, as well as their choices of words and music. The programme started with Brian Aldridge and finished with Tracey Horrobin.

that's slavery, isnt it? don't often catch episodes but always a good listen as i potter about!

Forgot it was Sunday. Only just remembered to listen to the omibus. Can't believe Philip and Kirsty have married. I thought she would find out what he's been up to before that happened. I've been listening to the archers for years. I didn't like the lockdown editions the monologues.I don't think it's as good as it used to be. I wish they would either write characters out or have them still part of the cast. I hate it when characters are referred to and all we get is silence. So Kirsty has found outat last.

Why are Blake and co called 'horses' - what exactly are human horses? How can Phillip sell these three lads?

Last night’s episode was so funny! I can’t wait to hear what Susan revealed! Have any of you discovered DumTeeDum? Susan’s Zoom attempt is most amusing and the last episode interviews Nigel (well they say it is Graham Seed) but we know bestsmile

I listened to the omnibus yesterday. I didn't think much of the new episodes, in fact I turned off before the end. Surely technology would enable there to be interaction between the characters? Hope it picks up.

Hurrah.

I would have chosen different episodes for the covid, lull weeks. I suppose it was subjective which ones were chosen. The dinner party between Susan and Jennifer was such a classic of snobbery on both sides.I would have enjoyed hearing that again. Susan claiming family links to the Aldridges.

Also where was some of the older stuff with Nigel, Nelson and Walter. ( sorry to repeat ).

On Broadcasting House a family had written and acted their own covid 19 Ambridge version. Very clever. It involved black market toilet paper and Eddie.

New episodes of The Archers return on Monday 25 May.

I enjoyed the weddings and funeral on Sunday morning.
One thing that surprised me was Kenton proposing to Cathy. I had no recollection of them being together until I thought hard!

I was a bit worried when Emma referred to the mobile home as their 'Forever Home,' LullyDully

That wouldn't be my idea of a Happy Ever After ending. grin

LullyDully Fri 01-May-20 15:53:35

At last a " happy ever after" to keep us sweet until the Archers comes back. About time too. Let's just hope the truth comes out before Kirsty marries a man who is so opposed to her own principles.

I am going to miss my daily fix but will enjoy 'the old hits', let's hope they go back a bit. I'd like to relish Nelson, Walter and Nigel again. ( no mention of Helen's traumas with Rob please. )

merlotgran Thu 30-Apr-20 22:40:00

I wish I'd counted the number of times Kirsty has said, 'You're a good man, Philip Moss.'

I've heard of signposting but ……..

phoenix Thu 30-Apr-20 21:07:39

Good question, * merlot*!

I think we may be having some "vintage" i.e.repeat episodes for a week or two, then episodes recorded in lockdown.

The Kirsty & Philip thing is a bit of a conundrum, Kirsty has been so unlucky in relationships in the past, it's hard to think that the scriptwriters would put her through the mill again!

merlotgran Thu 30-Apr-20 20:22:45

I presume when Ambridge goes into Lockdown, building work will cease so what will Philip do about Blake and the others?

When we return will Kirsty and Phil's wedding have taken place?

phoenix Thu 30-Apr-20 19:16:18

Very glad for Ed & Emma, but what will happen with Philip & Kirsty?

Hate the way that Philip & Gavin refer to the "horses" angry

So, who would like to put forward some theories?

Scribbles Thu 30-Apr-20 13:10:56

I wondered that, also, Merlot but we know that little details like planning regs don't apply in Borsetshire.

But Ed & Emma ....aaaah. Reminded me all too much of an episode in my own real life and I was in floods of tears.

merlotgran Wed 29-Apr-20 23:09:36

Did Emma ask Oliver if she could park a mobile home in the yard at Grange Farm?

#planningpermission

eGJ Wed 29-Apr-20 20:35:04

Only just heard it. Ahh ?

Elrel Wed 29-Apr-20 20:10:32

Ridiculously pleased for Ed and Emma!

Alishka Wed 29-Apr-20 11:29:49

Any bets on Linda being the one to put together the jigsaw pieces of who was responsible for the GG explosion? My money's firmly on her!

Maggiemaybe Wed 29-Apr-20 08:33:02

News of some classic Archers to be broadcast from 3 May.

Agreed Sparkling. Poor Roy with the false phone text. Perhaps the “Happy ever after” for Kirsty will be Roy!

Sparkling Wed 22-Apr-20 05:46:14

Let Philip and Gavin be outed soon. Just want those poor men discovered before Covud 19 arrives.

merlotgran Mon 20-Apr-20 20:54:57

I wonder if Helen will see similarities between Philip's rushed explanations and Rob's blustering when he was asked awkward questions? hmm

LullyDully Mon 06-Apr-20 19:22:59

Let's hope Ed and Emma get it together some how.
Gavin is a rat.
