Evening all
This slot has been home to some real gems, I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, Dead Ringers, Just a Minute among others, but tonight's offering was absolutely dire!

Almost cringeworthy, who on earth commissioned it?

So was last night's, don't even know what it was called. Switched off, which is what I am doing increasingly with Radio 4, but that is what they want, isn't it?
Out to attract the youth audience.

The only nights they have proper comedy programmes at 6-30 are Mondays and Fridays. Rest of the week is rubbish (in my opinion).

I agree, I couldn't bear tonight's offering. I am disappointed that the excellent John Finnemore was given such a short series this time, it can't have been more than four episodes. At least we have ISAHAC and Dead Ringers at the moment, but when did they last come up with a new comedy programme that was really funny?

Always listen to r4 but find the 6.30pm ‘comedy’ slot less than funny. Always enjoy just a minute and I am sorry I havnt a clue but as has been said, the rest are questionable and last night I couldn’t help wondering who at the bbc thought this worth commissioning.

That slot is either totally brilliant or totally pants.

I agree - some of the programmes on Radio 4 these days are pretty dire and the comedy often not funny. I seldom listen at 6.30 but I do at 11pm (when some of the 6.30 programmes are repeated) and the offerings vary from very interesting and enjoyable (I usually drop off in the middle) to rubbish (unfortunately these usually keep me awake). With any luck, Today in Parliament is suitably soporific.
