Bill Turnbull, Staying Alive, Channel 4

A lovely man, I liked him as a presenter on BBC Breakfast and was sorry to hear of his illness. I will watch this, thanks for the reminder.

I watched this, brave man and his family. I hope his illness gets no worse.

I will get this on catch-up. I wanted to watch it but my husband has prostate cancer and he wasn't keen.

When Bill Turnbull first publicly 'announced' his diagnosis my DH asked GP for a prostate check......GP asked "are you experiencing any symptoms, or is this the Turnbull effect", but was happy to carry out blood test for DH

I didn’t realise he was returning to breakfast tv but I wish it was with the BBC.

Bill Turnbull oured the country giving a talk on bees and beekeeping which I would have loved to have gone to; however, we were away when he came to our local theatre.

A lovely man (he is proof that not all old Etonians are pompous and privileged!).

If it hadn’t been for dear Mr Turnbull , my husband would be in the same position as him, when I heard about his illness I suggested my husband who is the same age had a prostrate test, and low and behold it came back positive. Something I hadn’t expected. A year on he has had his prostate removed and so far all is ok. So thank you so much Mr Turnbull for making us aware.

Fantastic programme and well done to Bill for making it. It was. Dry moving but also humorous and I’m sure a help to others.

I admire people in the public eye who use their problems to encourage others to check or seek help, or who lend their celebrity to publicise issues that we all need to be aware of. I don't understand why they seem to get so much flak.

Ive always been a fan of Bill’s . Great documentary. When he first announced his illness it coincided with husbands father and two uncles being diagnosed with prostate cancer. My OH who is 53 thought he better go for a test and yes it was positive too. He had it removed in july this year and touch wood everything so far is ok. But what a great bloke Bill is, so brave. He must have saved quite a few lives already.

Always support Bill for his prsence on TV and radio, but now more than ever because he has such a difficult cancer.

It rang a lot of bells after DH's cancer. I do hope his latest treatment gets good results.
