I have never watched it but I heard someone talk about it this morning

It is fab, it is on iplayer and episodes are 45min long. Set in stratford upon avon. I just watched episode 1 and am delighting in the fact that there are many more episodes to watch. This is going to be so welcome when I am putting my feet up during the afternoon after a busy day

It is so enjoyable with a slightly comic element, it is light hearted and very easy to watch and best of all not too long. I am not going to binge watch, I am saving it for one episode a day

Which channel please?? Sounds like one we’d enjoy!

Thank you for this craftyone as I have just finished reading "Hamnet" and so I'm in "Shakespeare mode".

I love this programme. I know Stratford on Avon well and the locations are lovely. Good, lightweight story lines with humour and plenty of references to Shakespeare.

Very easy to watch, no demanding plots to work out, just 45 minutes of escapism.

I have seen them all and enjoyed them.

I used to watch it on an afternoon, until DH saw it and decided to join me! Gone was my chill time. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Nice little program goes well with a cup of tea and slice of cake.

Yes I loved it all too. It’s so nice not to have the usual ‘good looking’ characters in it. All that botoxed, plastic, neon teeth and plastic boobs gets stale. These are real people with flaws for a pleasant change.

For me, it's a bar of chocolate and a cup of tea. Bliss!

Witzend asks Which channel?
I think it must be just on iPlayer?
Do you watch iPlayer - on your PC?
Do you have to download something?
Can you explain in words of one syllable please?

Ashcombe Tue 27-Oct-20 17:59:31

ExD
Google search BBC iPlayer.
You’ll be asked questions on age and if you have a licence.
You’ll need to sign in with your email address, I think.
Then enter the programme name in the Search box.
Only accessible in U.K.

Hope that helps.

It was on the afternoon slot on BBC 1. A very enjoyable light hearted series. My husband didn't like it though.
For all Doctors fans I think its back on the screen next week. I can't remember how it ended now.

I love the young chap who works in the office - his costumes are great.

Marydoll Tue 27-Oct-20 19:58:24

The last episode of Doctors was them filming themselves from home on their phones, I think!

I love the way the young chap in Shakespeare and Hathaway, hams it up!

Thanks Marydoll

Thank you Ashcombe.

I've always enjoyed this series - it's such fun! Hooray - I understand that there's another series in the pipe-line, to be screened next year.

Shakespeare and Hathaway was always a great favourite of mine, watched them all and then again on repeats. It is BBC at its very best, fun, light hearted, good characters, excellent acting. Yes, Sebastian is brilliant. Be good if they make a further series.
I am so pleased that Doctors is returning next Monday. Will make me feel that some things are beginning to get back to normal. I saw that very clever final episode which they did during the start of Lockdown - but am finding it difficult to remember some of the storylines which were running before that. There was something about the Midwife being on suspension.
