I’ve never actually listened to this but am going to give it a go now that the excellent Emma Barnett is hosting it. Did anyone listen to it today? I’m just diving into catchup to find it. There’s a good article in Saturdays Times magazine about her which describes how badly she suffers from endometriosis.

I hope she's good. I sort of wonder if womans hour will survive.

Well, that was an interesting interview with the woman that Cummings sacked: the one that was escorted out of Downing Street by a policeman. She didn’t seem to be prepared to criticise the government in any way, said she felt sorry for the policeman and that she didn’t find Cummings as scary as when she was held at knifepoint by someone’s at one time. Obviously the out of court settlement was a good one. Never having listened to woman’s hour before I didn’t you know if it tended to be political or not so don’t know if interviews like that will do down well. I certainly found it interesting. And at least it gave some publicity regarding Nazanin Ratcliffe even though Jeremy Hunt said that Johnson actually cared about her. I’ll stick with it anyway so at least it will have gained one new listener.

Have always enjoyed Woman’s hour, it’s both informative and interesting. Today’s presenter was Emma Barnet who I have not come across, but hope she will be as professional as her predecessors.

I like Emma Barnett because she is one of the few journalists I have seen lately who is prepared to challenge politicians.

I may now start listening to Woman's Hour so they'll gain another new listener!

I liked Emma Barnett on radio 5, great interviewer. Jane Garvey is a hard act to follow, but a very different kind of interviewer to Emma. I listed yesterday, and again today and will be listening tomorrow. I'd largely deserted Women's Hour for radio 5 because I enjoyed Emma's morning programme so much.
Here's hoping Emma Barnett brings new life to WH.

Thank God patronising Jenny and combative Jane have gone, might give it a go now.

Didn't enjoy it; if I want politicians challenged I will listen to Today, World at One and PM; plenty of women there doing it better.
I wasn't impressed by her unchallenging interview with the schoolgirl-ish Sonia Khan.

I think she tried very hard to get her to answer the questions but realised she wasn’t going to get a response. Which is a response in itself I guess.

I agree MayBee, EB tried but realised Sonia Khan wants a job back in Westminster, so wasn’t going to be open.
Also, EB is new to this role so her investigative interview technique will change.

I liked EB on R5 but didn’t enjoy her interview with Sonia Khan. Disappointing as I was very glad to see the back of Dame Jenni.

Did anyone listen to this today? There was an interview with Camila Batmanghelidjh.

An interesting interview, not quite sure what I think. Very interesting to hear the Dominic Cummings angle.

I wasn't sure what to think either but did feel she was reluctant to explain things...

Oh I would have loved to hear that I must listen.
