The Bidding room

It is interesting to see how much items are valued at but the actual bidding isn’t very well done. I agree with BlueBelle Four Rooms is much better, Biba70 I believe it was on Channel 4.

I have seen the 'expert' on other antique programmes as an auctioneer (sans hat), so he would have a wide range of expertise.

The other day there was a ride-on stuffed dog on wheels. The estimate was for about £50 and it was bought for around £300. My memory might not have the figures quite right but somewhere near!

Nigel Havers is one of those actors who pops up on TV a lot these days, but I don't mind him on the Bidding Room. I was interested to hear that he collects stuffed fish!

I avoided this programme thinking it might be rather dull, but during this current lockdown, I find it really enjoyable.

I loved the Architect’s Drawing Board.

Oopsadaisy I have watched this programme for sometime now - have usually been quite amazed how the 'expert' so often gives such a good estimation of money likely to offered.

I have often wondered how a single expert can cover so many different types of items, and did wonder if there were other people, in the background, assisting him.

This is a very good programme, it is pleasant and light and everyone on there seems to have a really enjoyable. No nasties involved.

It is interesting to see that they have managed to continue filming new episodes this year, with the bidders all sitting far apart, instead of round the table.

The one I saw had an ‘expert’ outside the room vastly underestimate the value of something, fortunately someone in the room recognised the value and the seller got a reasonable price for it. Racking my brain as to what the item was....

Ha! Remembered, It was an architects drawing board made of cast iron, expert said £120 ( I said rubbish) people went up to £450.
So , get a decent expert and I might watch it again.

Never saw that one. When was that, which Channel?

It’s not bad but I preferred ‘Four rooms’ which is another bidding programme

watching this now- and it is a copy of a French TV programme that has been running for many years. Makes a change, as normally programmes in Continental Europe are copies of UK programmes. Interesting
