TV is getting me through lockdown, so no apologies!

Recently, I have enjoyed Rita (Danish), Dark (German sci fi), Duchess of Duke Street, The Bletchley Circle, Ride Upon the Storm (Danish).

Based on my preferences above, any suggestions please?

Spiral (French), if you haven’t seen it already, Call my Agent (French), Rebecca Martinsson (Swedish), The Nordic Murders more of a Midsomer Murders, rather than a Scandi noir) and Kim’s Convenience (a gentle half hour comedy set in Toronto).

Just saw a very sweet Swedish film on BBC4. Need to check out what it’s called. I missed the beginning so I need to rewatch it.

Just started Virgin River on Netflix. It’s easy but absorbing too. Even OH keeps sitting down to watch and asks questions.

Call my agent is marvellous. Offspring on Netflix (Australian about a family slightly dysfunctional). I’ve watched all seven series.
Total frivolity Grace and Frankie on Netflix.

Summer of Rockets on Netflix.

New series (4) of Unforgotten on ITV starting next Monday. . Brilliant. With Nicola Walker. Watch first 3 series if you've not seen it, Netflix have them.

The Bridge (Netflix)

We are watching Designated Survivor on Netflix - the Capitol building is bombed by terrorists and the President and Vice President are dead. The only person who can take over is a junior minister- Keifer Southerland a fine actor. Its very interesting especially in view of recent events.

For light relief if you are broad minded King Dave on BBC i-player.

Just for fun Modern Family on Prime.

We are working our way through every episode of Waking The Dead on i-player; it's just so good though not for the faint-hearted. Trevor Eve is mesmerising as Peter Boyd and the supporting cast is great too, particularly Sue Johnston and Wil Johnson.

Just started watching Seaside Hotel on All 4 (from Denmark with subtitles). Really enjoying it so far

Have you seen the stranger? we are quite enjoying that at the moment.

Succession is great-partly based on the family life of the Murdochs. 2 series and series 3 is in production.
Pose if you are fairly broadminded and liked It's a Sin. (not as much sex but is about the trans-gay community in 1980s New York)

Outlander on Prime.
Silly but somehow addictive ‘Pretty little liars’ on BBC IPlayer.
Dead to Me on Netflix.

The Valhalla Murders is on BBC iPlayer. It is set in Iceland and I thought it was very good with a few twists and turns.

Personal tastes vary of course but one of the best series I have watched on Netflix is Mind Hunter. It is set in the late 1970s and shows how the FBI set up a team who investigate serial killers and how they operate to make them more efficient at solving their crimes. The acting is very good, especially the portrayal of some of the serial killers when they are being interviewed. DH watches very different things to me but he rated it highly as well.

If you like world drama and quirky then try Professor T on All 4. I have actually seen all the series twice as it is so amusing.

The Disappearance was a great French thriller series from a couple of years ago, it's still on BBC I Player.

BBC 5 is showing Elizabeth R, starring Glenda Jackson and a host of renowned British actors, Wednesday evening, 9pm, I think. Quality viewing.

Our latest find is Resident Alien on Sky. Made me laugh out loud for the first time in a while.

I've watched Virgin River (2 series). A bit American schmaltzy but not enough to put me off.

Now back on the Brit TV watching The Stranger which is much grittier.

I've just started watching Behind her Eyes on Netflix, seems ok so far.

TerriBull Sun 21-Feb-21 08:29:28

I've just finished watching the first series of The Adulterer (Dutch) on Walter Presents, thought it was pretty good, will carry on with it as there are another 2.

I might watch Behind Her Eyes if only to see if it's better than the book, which was absolute shite imo.

The Queen's Gambit (Netflix) is excellent. Who would have thought a drama based on chess could be so stylish and gripping?
