What have you already watched? What have you enjoyed?

I’m enjoying “Call my agent” on Netflix. In French with subtitles. Also “Unorthodox”. About to start “Schtisel” which has been recommended by others.

The first series of “Mad Men” is on Amazon if you didn’t see it the first time.

Call my Agent is really good. Mare of Eastown.

Saw Schtisel which was good. Also seen Emily in Paris which I enjoyed for its lightness and fun. I started Ozark but abandoned it for some reason. I might try Resident Alien. I could do with something fun. There seem to be a lot of very serious or gloomy things around. Very fed up with programmes about renovating houses or buying houses abroad. Blue Bloods is a favourite and I loved Endeavour but it’s done now. Thanks for the suggestions ?

Another vote for Frankie and Grace. I love it.

I just started watching Six Feet Under, about a family who own a funeral parlour, very funny in places but some good stories. It’s a Sky box set.

Olive Kitteridge, a series starring Frances McDormand as a rather hard school teacher and her more easy going husband who is a Pharmacist. Also a Sky box set.

I Know This Much Is True, a Sky box set starring Mark Ruffalo who plays twins, one of whom is a schizophrenic. Certainly not a barrel of laughs but worth watching for Mark Ruffalo’s amazing performance.

DH and I watched and enjoyed Stowaway, a film on Netflix about a crew of three on a mission to Mars who discover a stowaway soon after lift off. The extra oerson on board causes problems for the crew.

I also enjoyed The News Room, another Sky Box Set, four series by Aaron Sorkin of The West Wing fame, starring Jeff Daniels, Dev Patel and Emily Mortimer.

Mind Hunter on Netflix, two series about how the FBI set up a special department studying Serial Killers.

Big Little Lies, a Sky series about four women who become friends through their children on the school run. Set in Monterey Bay so some stunning scenery and houses. Stars Nicole Kidman, Reece Witherspoon, Laura Derne and Shailene Woodley.

Little Fires Everywhere starring Reece Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, also a Sky box set.

Trial Of The Chicago Seven, I think it's on Netflix. I’ve watched this twice, stars Mark Rylance and Sasha Baron Cohen.

Bridge Of Spies, starring Tom Hanks and Mark Rylance. A Stephen Spielberg film about the exchange of US pilot Gary Powers and a Russian spy. I think it's also on Netflix.

News Of The World starring Tom Hanks on Netflix.

I've just binge watched Schitt's Creek on Netflix, it's slow to start but amazing! It's about a rich family who go broke and have to live in a town they bought ... Schitt's Creek. I miss them all now

I also recommend Mad Men on Prime Video, it's about advertising in the 60's, fantastic fashion and social history.

My favourite on Netflix was Anne with an E, it's adapted from Anne of Green Gables. Some upsetting scenes highlighting the plight of the First Nations - Canada didn't acknowledge this until 2009, when they made a public apology. My daughter did an International Degree at McMaster in Canada, and they had First Nation studies there.

Just to let you know OP, that a new series of Endeavour is currently being filmed in Oxford. Look out for it later this year.

Schitts Creek - Netflix

Hi Polarbear2!

If you like supernatural/magical programmes try the following, both of which I highly recommend:-

1) Supernatural. A series about 2 brothers who fight monsters, demons,witches and angels. Very addictive. There are 15 seasons, and we are down to the last 3 episodes of the final season. I'm dragging it out, don't want it to end!

2) A Discovery of Witches. 2 seasons so far ( I think a third is on the way) about a historian and her vampire partner . Absolutely gripping, beautifully shot, gorgeous costumes.

I don't like horror/gory things, so these 2 have just the right level of "make you jump" moments, great storylines, and characters you really care about.

Thanks again! Done Schitts Creek and loved it. Brilliant news about Endeavour! Look forward to that. Not really into vampires etc but thanks. I’ve toyed with trying Anne with an E but thought it might be too schmaltzy. I might give it a go now. A recommendation from me would be Virgin River (can’t remember if Netflix or prime?). Light but has enough serious moments to hold interest. Very dishy male lead too ??

Another vote for Call my Agent. I don't normally like subtitles but this one kept my attention.

The Kominsky Method- very clever comedy with Alan Arkin and Michael Douglas third series coming soon.

It's an old one but my all time favourite is The Sopranos. Quite unpleasant at times but gripping.
A lovely film is Goodbye Christopher Robin. This isn't the Ewan Mcgregor one about AA Milne but a less publicised one. It's sad but delightful.

Gomorrah, not for everyone, but very good, with subtitles.

There was a series about a Danish Prime Minister which was very good, also sub titles, but I don’t remember the name.

Justified very good series and you watch Mr.Olliphant!

If you can get hold of it or get on Netflix watch "Diana" (nothing to do with HRH) by R.F. Delderfield. Excellent, watched in the 80's and just watched again. A real good yarn as my Grandma would say!
