Agree I love them too, Musicals in general remind me of being little watching with my Nan who was a big fan.
(I'm sure I heard there is a film being made about the Amazing Fred Astaire?)
Going to watch Easter Parade on catch up . I always liked James Cagney in "Yankee Doodle Dandy" it's funny what takes your fancy when your small.
The Sound of Music was made in 1965..the early to mid 60 ' had a few classic' s as did late 70's then nothing that springs to mind?
Stage musicals thankfully still going strong.
I saw Mary Poppins in London 2 weeks ago, I'm lucky we live not far from Chichester who stage a Musical as part of the Summer season and Southampton is the local stop for West End productions.
You can't beat a song and a dance story, it make me happy.
