“Keeping Faith” drama about a family is back tonight for a further 6 episodes. (This is series 3)
I’m excited about it - are there any other fans amongst GN?

I enjoyed it. I just hope I can remember what happened before.

Beechnut Sat 27-Mar-21 17:54:22

I will watch it having binge watched the other series last weekend ?

2020convert Sat 27-Mar-21 17:55:04

I’ve never seen it but do you think it’s worth starting now? Not much choice on tv tonight

BlueBelle Sat 27-Mar-21 17:57:55

Yes I m a fan loved the last series and loved Steve although nothing like my ‘usual type’
Looking forward to it

Only just discovered it's back tonight, there is so little on tv, worth watching, particularly on Saturdays.

If the first two series are available 2020convert, I'd try and catch up if you are able to, there are quite a few back stories which I imagine this new series might follow on from. I loved the first one when I first stumbled upon it.

Newatthis Sat 27-Mar-21 18:11:55

Can someone please give me a reminder as to what happened at the end of the last series.

mokryna Sat 27-Mar-21 18:27:19

The Sun has a summary of the first two series on the web.

kittylester Sat 27-Mar-21 18:29:18

I think this is the last series!

Puzzler61 Sat 27-Mar-21 18:35:14

Yes there is a bit too much to put on here, but I have PM’d you Newatthis.
Evan, Faith’s husband was bribed by local criminals the Glynn’s, after getting a member of the Glynn family off a murder charge against an Irish gangster called Paddy Reardon.

Puzzler61 Sat 27-Mar-21 18:37:32

At the end of the last series Evan is out of prison and in the kitchen of the house he shared with Faith he made an attempt to stab himself. Faith has little time for him now but implores him not to do this in front of their children.

Disappointed at last night’s opening episode to series 3.
I hope it picks up next week.

Greyduster Sun 28-Mar-21 10:16:29

I was disappointed too. If we have another episode of stilted dialogue, histrionics and sitting/lying about on the floor from her I shall give up on it!

BlueBelle Sun 28-Mar-21 10:21:57

Yes I was disappointed too I thought it was me just not getting it but I didn’t find it as enthralling as I was expecting it to be

hulahoop Sun 28-Mar-21 10:34:57

It was very slow hope it picks up pace next week.

I struggled to get through the first series, only watched it after rave reviews from others.

Didn’t attempt the second at all.

I found Faith extremely irritating, always tossing her hair and gazing into the middle distance, at least that’s how I remember it.

I love the setting, it is set in a most beautiful part of South Wales, Laugharne - pronounced Larn. Where Dylan Thomas did most of his writing. I've only been there twice and wondering if I shall be able to make it a third time. The bay is lovely. Not too far away is the Quaint seaside resort of Tenby. We shall watch it for the setting alone!!

AcornFairy Sun 28-Mar-21 11:00:39

To quote the Sian Phillips character: “histrionics”. What is Faith’s problem? So melodramatic. I don’t really get the tempo of this series, but admit to being fascinated.

Puzzler61 Sun 28-Mar-21 11:04:35

The first series was great, but then the cameraman became fascinated with Faith and he lingers too long on her.
She took up boxing last series - lots of shots of her sweaty and wearing not a lot ?
The Welsh scenery is ruggedly beautiful.

henetha Sun 28-Mar-21 11:09:33

I watched it and quite enjoyed it, having watched the first two series. But Faith is a bit irritating with her child like tantrums.

Lillie Sun 28-Mar-21 11:11:08

What was that all about? I was disappointed for my first attempt at viewing.

Pittcity Sun 28-Mar-21 12:43:57

Didn't really understand what was going on but it helped me get to sleep!!

Greyduster

I was disappointed too. If we have another episode of stilted dialogue, histrionics and sitting/lying about on the floor from her I shall give up on it!

Just how I felt Greyduster the area its filmed in is lovely though.

Curlywhirly Sun 28-Mar-21 14:47:09

I did enjoy the other series, but do think the camera shots are odd; the way they keep lingering on Faith's face; the aerial shots of Faith lying on the floor (who does that in an office?); all very strange. I'll stick with it though, as the story is usually quite good.

What an extremely irritating woman, teetering around on those high heels, always eating on the go, just one bite though, the sullen face, the short fuse and irrational outbursts, the screaming, weird photo shots, puts me on edge just half an hour is too much. The other seedy characters I don’t care for, sorry for those children, it’s so depressing, so will give it a miss.
