Anyone see it?
A bit obvious,(plenty of French sunshine, Nouveau Riche Brits too lazy to learn French, clues too extraordinary to believe). But gentle. Less sleuthing and more snoozing. Easy to catch up with if I nodded off!
It felt more like an afternoon program to me.

But, I do love Sally Lindsay, (I liked Mount Pleasant and Corrie plus the more serious roles she has played)
So, it suits my taste and I shall tune in again.

I quite enjoyed it and shall watch it again. One of the things that amused me was the woman police officer and how she spoke to Madame; playing on the way the British, who cannot speak the language, supposedly talk to the people of whichever country they are in. smile

I quite enjoyed it too. However, I'd read and heard so much about its being filmed in Gozo that I couldn't 'believe' it was France. Pleasant viewing though.

I think the actress is really good in anything she has been in and down to earth. But I wasn’t really impressed with this series that she co wrote.

I thought it was quite fun and may turn out to be more enjoyable than the awful Finding Alice.

Just watched this, I see what you mean about it being an "afternoon "type programme, but enjoyed it and will watch again.

I quite liked it too, pleasant scenery and very relaxing. However, I didn't understand the ending and only later did I realise that it is the first of six episodes. What did you think to Madame Blanc's clothes? Quite bohemian, I though, and not what I would have expected. I did like them, though. Might go that way myself.

A lot of the clothes are by WooWoo Boutique, who has a shop on Etsy. Some fabulous dresses, around the £150 mark. They can be made to your measurements so not that pricey.

Really? £150? I didn't think they were that nice, tbh. Can I ask, please, how do you know that, Blossoming? Just curious!

I bought something similar to her over jacket (floaty, long jacket cardi type) on ebay for around £20, and I noticed they have reduced them.
All colours were available.

I liked her clothes NotToOld They seemed perfect for the summer.
I noticed there are a lot of 1970's style ponchos and capes around in the shops now. Some are even mustard (or was it called antique gold in the day?).
I love the old hippy styles that designers have brought uptodate with a new twist. As you say 'bohemian'.

I thought they were a bit gloomy. Dark clothes in that heat?

I looked in their Etsy shop.

NotTooOld I knew the name of the shop as she mentioned where her clothes were from in an interview.

I just thought they were frumpy. Check out the '100 Stars' website. I bought a beautiful duster coat with a crane pattern. Their kimono jackets are gorgeous.

NanKate Mon 18-Oct-21 22:00:47

I bought a lovely summery top from 100 Stars Aveline such fab colours and designs. I will try this new series.

Ah, I see! I've had a look on Etsy, never been there before, but it looks interesting. I like longish skirts and boots and floaty kimonos and stuff like that.

An easy watch, with plenty of sunshine, what's not to like? It balances out all the dark gloomy dramas they keep broadcasting. You need a bit of lightweight cheerfulness sometimes.

Yes definitely Chestnut

I am loving the series, wish I knew where to buy those gorgeous kimono Sally wears so beautiful!!

NotTooOld Wed 10-Nov-21 17:47:05

See above, Gillydilly!
Must confess, I can't always follow the plot as some of the actors seem to mumble, or maybe it's me. I love the scenery though, and the sunshine. Very diverting.

Namsnanny Fri 12-Nov-21 00:15:28

I dont watch it on the day it's broadcast (Sat) I save it for a boring week day. Especially if I'm feeling a bit gloomy. A little pick me up.
