Did anyone see it last night?
Kit, aged 4 waiting for a heart transplant was a real tear-jerker.

Hats off to the RVI and Freeman Hospitals. Proud to be a Geordie. (Well almost - just a few miles South)

Yes, I watched the programme. Very inspirational. I'm looking forward to watching again next week.

The RVI & Freeman (and wonderful teams of staff) saved my life.

I'm currently under the care of the Freeman...absolutely fantastic, supportive staff.

My DGS 2 is off this morning to the Freeman hospital. He has an audiology appointment. At last we might get some answers as to why he has difficulty hearing certain sounds.
The RVI looked after my late brothe- in-law when he was suffering with kidney disease, back in the late 60s-early 70s. Kidney transplantation was in it's infancy back then, but the care he received was exceptional.

I love it. Such terrific people. I'm fascinated by the surgeon who does such intricate, difficult and life saving work and then cycles off home for a G&T. Somewhere in my head I would have him in a darkened room in exhausted recovery. I'm so wrong and delighted to be so. What a terrific team of people they are. Great programme.

Thanks Georges gran. I won't be able to see it then sad.
We mostly have the QE in Gateshead on the other side of the river (also excellent) but are sent to Newcastle for some things.

I will have to watch this on catchup as these are my local hospitals.
I trained as a nurse in the old Newcastle General Hospital many moons ago
This now non existent hospital, with the RVI and the Freeman have all been part of my family's lives.
I cannot say anymore as this will out me.

I once lived next door to the General pinkprincess. Could see it from my bedroom window.

Thankyou GagaJo

The General was once Newcastle's workhouse. It was called The Wingrove then. When I was a student nurse alot of the older patients still referred to it by that name and some even felt shame about being in there
