What did you think of it?
A bit different and had to keep alert but enjoyed it and will keep watching. I love DT and Stanley Tucci.

Kim19 Tue 27-Sep-22 08:12:20

Is it extremely violent, please? Really like these actors but introductory ad very put me off.

Gingster Tue 27-Sep-22 08:20:15

Not violent so far!

J52 Tue 27-Sep-22 08:22:07

I thought it was really good, I love these slowly evolving dramas with twists. It was a bit like Inside No 9.

Greyduster Tue 27-Sep-22 08:27:54

I started watching it, but then it got a bit too intense for me so I turned over, which is a shame because I adore Stanley Tucci in anything. I may give it a second go on iPlayer

Jaxjacky Tue 27-Sep-22 08:34:44

I enjoyed the parts with Tucci, but found the parts with Tennant stretched my credulity, I won’t post specifics. Will watch part two tonight.

Charleygirl5 Tue 27-Sep-22 08:51:05

Dire springs to mind-I will watch Vera tonight.

TerriBull Tue 27-Sep-22 08:55:58

I really enjoyed it, thought it was very unusual, particularly the switching between Stanley Tucci's character on death row in the US and initially the cosy setting of Middle England by way of introduction to the Vicar and his family. David Tennant is always pretty good in whatever he's in, will definitely keep watching . He's got a helluva lot of snowballing problems now apropos of doing one small favour shock

Grandmadinosaur Tue 27-Sep-22 08:58:06

My thoughts too Jaxjacky I’ll give it another watch though.

CatsCatsCats Tue 27-Sep-22 09:01:50

Same here, Jaxjacky. Loved the Tucci parts and don't know whether I would have kept watching if it had just centred around the vicar.

It is different from the usual psychological thrillers.

Cabbie21 Tue 27-Sep-22 09:03:57

I thought it began well but then became too far- fetched for me.

LucyLocket55 Tue 27-Sep-22 09:10:56

The David Tennant story line was ridiculous. Stanley Tucci is semi credible, but overall a disappointing episode. May watch tonight, may not.

MerylStreep Tue 27-Sep-22 09:12:09

JaxJacky
Same here with that scene.
I’ll probably stick with it as it’s such good acting.

I switched off after 10 mins of I came by
I’m so glad a went back to it.

BigBertha1 Tue 27-Sep-22 09:34:59

I was intrigued. DH said ' spot the not-mad person'.

Nana3 Tue 27-Sep-22 09:41:33

It became too tense for me during the scene about the discovery of the pornography, turned over.

Hmm. Haven't watched it yet but just wondering why everything these days has to be dark, violent, intense and psychological. I've just been watching Jonathan Creek which always leaves me feeling cheerful.

Prentice Tue 27-Sep-22 10:10:35

I love Jonathan Creek too Chestnut a really excellent series.
David Tennant is a really good actor but have not heard of Stanley Tucci or this series, Inside Man so will have to find out.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 27-Sep-22 10:11:48

I will definitely be watching part two this evening. Grim, but I love watching D Tennant and S Tucci.

Zoejory Tue 27-Sep-22 10:14:16

I thought it was bizarre.

If you like grim, Dahmer on Netflix delivers.

HowVeryDareYou Tue 27-Sep-22 10:38:02

Zoejory I've just watched Dahmer on Netflix. Grim indeed.

Doodledog Tue 27-Sep-22 10:44:51

Dahmer is way beyond 'grim' grin. I loved it, but it is not for the faint hearted!

I thought Inside Man was bonkers, but I really enjoyed it. It started 'straight', then gradually became more surreal, which worked for me - if it had started in a topsy turvy world I would have been put off.

I'm still not sure about the reason for the money going into the bank account after 'marital relations'. Are we still in the dark about that, or did I miss the explanation?

Babs758 Tue 27-Sep-22 18:42:17

I really enjoyed it. Great dark sense of humour and typical Moffat. DH out tonight so will catch up tomorrow. It’s filling in a viewing gap left by celebrity Masterchef for us! There are very few things I watch with DH.

Aveline Tue 27-Sep-22 18:49:12

I quite enjoyed it. The Stanley Tucci side was VG.
Re the $253 stuff it was a play in words re 'therapist' and 'the rapist'.

travelsafar Tue 27-Sep-22 19:23:39

I turned over at the scene in the kitchen then the cellar. Way tooo bizarre to be believed!!!! I didn't like the scene in the railway carriage either.

Doodledog Tue 27-Sep-22 20:38:02
