Am I the only person pleased to see him go?
I'd like to see Nikki Bedi go too to be honest - new blood would be welcome here (...*no*, not Amol Rajan grin)

welbeck Sat 25-Mar-23 00:00:19

agree on all three.

Janie grin

Made me laugh so much that I had to look him up, Janiepops, because he isn’t known here. He does look to be a bit of a toad I have to say.

FannyCornforth Sat 25-Mar-23 05:28:21

I think he’s lovely sad

notgran Sat 25-Mar-23 05:58:58

I agree. I can't think of any programme that he has been in that I have enjoyed.

JackyB Sat 25-Mar-23 06:57:07

I like him, but was pleasantly surprised how good Danny Wallace was when he stood in for him recently. Brilliant interview and not quite so much "me, me, me". Mind you Coles does have an interesting past to draw on.

JackyB Sat 25-Mar-23 06:58:19

Interviewer, I mean, not "interview".

Grammaretto Sat 25-Mar-23 07:02:45

I like his voice. I don't know what he looks like as I hardly watch any TV.
Who will do it now?
I liked John Peel - but he died.

Juliet27 Sat 25-Mar-23 07:13:01

Had you ever heard of The Communards nanna8 and their song ‘Don’t leave me this way’?He was half of that duo.

NotAGran55 Sat 25-Mar-23 07:14:35

I won’t be pleased to see him go because I had to look up Saturday Live as I didn’t know what it was!

I liked to sing along to the Communards though back in day.

FannyCornforth Sat 25-Mar-23 07:15:40

Richard now and in The Communards with Jimmy Somerville in the 80s

kittylester Sat 25-Mar-23 07:15:40

I really like him but rarely manage to listen to the programme.

maggemaybe totally agree I don’t watch it either but have seen him pop up on a few different guest programmes he s not my cup of tea stall but for goodness sake why so much vitriol Janipops that didn’t make me laugh I thought it was quite cruel

aggie Sat 25-Mar-23 08:57:42

My thoughts too Maggiemaybe

Anniebach Sat 25-Mar-23 08:59:40

Mine too

kittylester Sat 25-Mar-23 09:01:56

I agree maggie.

Saturday Live is on Radio 4 not tv

Georgesgran Sat 25-Mar-23 09:04:48

I’m not familiar with that programme, but from things I’ve seen him on, he seems a decent, intelligent man.

Galaxy Sat 25-Mar-23 09:08:02

Yes I am only vaguely aware of him but that was a bit unnecessary. He speaks very movingly about grief.

Maggiemaybe Sat 25-Mar-23 09:12:04

kittylester

I agree maggie.

Saturday Live is on Radio 4 not tv

Oh, thanks kitty, I’ll have a listen now.

I thought I was alone! I cannot stand Richard Coles. I have never believed he is the genuine article. I do not understand how he gets job after job. I am sorry for his loss but he does irritate me beyond words.

Grannybags Sat 25-Mar-23 09:59:55

I like him and I listen to Saturday Live. It never seems the same when another presenter takes his place. I hope he's replaced by someone with a nice voice!
