We’re back (and somewhat poorer)
Hattie is a poorly pooch with a fever and blood and crystals in her wee. Hopefully just a UTI so an antibiotic jab and Metacam to help bring her temperature down. We have to go back tomorrow for another temperature check and reassessment. As long as she is responding there will probably be a prescription for oral a/b’s
She is sleeping peacefully beside me and only panting a bit.
I am relieved it isn’t anything worse-kidney failure or a major bug, she is such a good dog, comes to find me whenever she needs me and is such a love.
Grandmafrench The tree-lined road, sunlight filtering through the leaves, is beautiful. Your friends will have enjoyed your company. They both show enormous tenacity and the spirit remains willing. I can almost see your suntanned friend in her lovely yellow dress.
Ann I would like to see a photo of you and your granddaughter celebrating your birthday. She is a treasure, As indeed are you.
Charleygirl It's a bonus to have a minicab to transport you to your appointments BUT it's essential that you can depend on the cab arriving at the appropriate time. Have you had a quiet word, or two.

Wow it's so hot. Returned earlier from a visit to country chums. It was wonderful because we haven't visited them since almost a year ago. It was a bitter-sweet occasion. We had declined lunch, but we still had champagne and strawberry tart and an ice cream before leaving.. She looked so nice in a yellow dress, with a wonderful tan. She is now required to go to the hospital for 3 gruelling dialysis sessions per week which take all afternoon each time. Her left arm was covered in dressings and plasters and was swollen. On her chest she had another dressing and a line directly into her jugular beneath her skin - and the tan - and she has had to slow down considerably. He was always profoundly deaf with a cochlear implant but now has heart problems, is worried about losing his Wife and has had a prostate cancer diagnosis only recently. I cried behind my sunglasses - they never saw. He is 90 and she is 85 in a few weeks. They said they've no married friends left - everyone is widowed. But they were laughing and happy and so very pleased to see us again. We must push Covid back into a corner and meet up with friends , just for garden sessions, on a regular basis. Carpe Diem and all that.

For any of our gang who find it difficult to keep up to date - SNAP! Never mind. As long as we continue to care for each other, that is what is most important.
We were able to enter the home of our friends in the village for the first time since lock-down. We spent a happy half an hour blethering. It was an enormous treat. Our next door neighbour is celebrating his 60th birthday today. Son in Leicester celebrating his 59th. Our Ann also celebrating her special day.

Maw I know exactly how you are feeling about your dear Hattie's "blip". I also think that she may have a UTI. IF so, the vet will have her sorted in double quick time. Please keep us updated.

How is hattie today maw? I recall those worries well, sometimes think I fretted more about the dogs than I did the children. Once they could speak the children told me loudly exactly what was wrong. .
Another one here who looks through the Kitchen window to keep an eye on you all but simply can’t keep up. Definitely TOYA.
