Susan that young man is definitely a handful. From memory, I do not think he is even 8 months old yet is he? Before you know it he will be going down the staircase head first. I am rather pleased he is not my responsibility because he is a handful although still gorgeous.

Carillion,you are bound to feel overwhelmed at times.It has been a long road and now another operation,it is a lot to deal with at any time but with corona virus in the equation as well you are both bound to have times when you feel upset.It is so difficult to see those we love in pain.Sending love and strength?

Well Henry the ninja’s prank of the day was to climb the stairs.DD and son in law watching and following when quick as a flash he put his hand through the stair spindles and swiped everything off the top of the piano?Our daughter didn’t have to move anything when our granddaughter was smaller but I think with Henry she is going to need eyes in the back of her head.

DH has already had the hip replacements and knee replacements operations over the last fifteen years; the back operation was in January. So sorry for the poor explanation.

Dear Carillion our posts coincided. Your dear husband has done remarkably well considering his serious health issues. Mind you, you have been so wonderfully supportive throughout his trials and tribulations. He will continue to benefit from your support. And, there will be times when you will need to weep. It's nature's way of helping you to keep a sense of perspective. We all send our very best wishes to you both.

Other news, briefly, I promise...
dear kitcheners who gave me so much support around Christmas, DH’s operation and recovery seemed to be going very well.
COVID halted his subsequent physio so we wrote to his consultant last week. There was a swift reply and so there’s an appointment on Wednesday. We have talked about this and are expecting the second back operation which was explained to us at the start of this episode in his life.

I haven’t cried for a while but his recent pain has made me feel useless. If this goes ahead it will be multiple hip and knee replacements and now possibly two back operations.

However, I know how lucky I am that we have each other. So very sorry to be maudlin today. Didn’t intend this.

soop I cannot believe how grown up Torben is looking nowadays. As for Teddy- before I blink he will be going to school. They are both lovely young boys.

I am on Ludo's side- the poor animal is hungry. That is a long time without food and more difficult when he does not understand. Hopefully, the vomiting will slowly stop.

No rain here today- I am not a happy bunny because it is still so muggy.

Oh Susan, little Henry is BAD. He may be cute and lots of fun but any child that could eat my chocolates.....bad !

Beached whale, soop ? Hardly. But if you think you are then please take comfort from the fact that you are a very pretty one. That Gran in the Gunnera photo, how lovely are you? One can see where all those beautiful offspring came from, and offspring of offspring. So let's hear it for whales, eh?

You need to be able to roll onto your side, like we used to have to do when very pregnant, then bend your legs slightly and push up onto an elbow/hand etc. If you can then roll over onto your knees, you are mobile enough to head across a room for something to hold onto...maybe not your dear man in case you both crash onto the rug. Maybe with all the exciting activity involving pee pots, you're letting life's important exercises defeat you?

Puzzler's picnic on Corner's beach. Now you're talking. How fab would that be. Loved your beach invitation Doodle, what a lovely idea but can you imagine the noise? Of course if you all know each other, o.k. but if not, I suspect it would be like The Argy on steroids!!

Small brown Ludo paid another visit to the Vet before lunch for an increase of his drugs, thank you for asking all. He's vomiting only now and then still but Vet says no food until Sunday afternoon (from Thursday morning?!) so small dog is not pleased - in fact his expressions show us that he's appalled by this treatment.

We have great heat and sun but a damp breeze today, which has made me look a lot like my "Wiggy" in a pot. Purplepixie do keep marching on and don't worry. With a friend like you having done and still doing your absolute best, you should try to look on the bright side and hope that things will turn a corner soon. x

I have attached a photo of Ludo wearing his "are we nearly there" expression in the car park. He behaves so well in the car, both dogs do, but as soon as we arrive (or before, if anyone uses the indicators !!!!! ) he's up and looking.

Have a lovely end of afternoon. It must be time for all feet to be up and total relaxation taking over.

Goodness, soop, Torben is indeed a big lad. I remember him from the early days. I think he must be about the same age as Gransnet! My biggest - well, oldest - DGS will be 16 next week and his younger, but maybe taller, cousin will be 15 in August. I would, if I were allowed, post pictures of these 6 footers.

It is dry and rather windy but mercifully cooler today. The logs we ordered arrived at 8.30 this morning and DH was able to move them from the drive into the log store. I swept up, that was my contribution. I also baked a caramel cake and once iced, will leave some in the Kitchen for you.

Here we have just had one of those vertical showers, really heavy, but, thankfully, short-lived. It was blustery early on but there's barely a leaf stirring now.

I have spent the morning damp dusting and hoovering the upstairs.We had the new carpet fitted last week in the beautifully decorated empty room.The doors then wouldn’t move because of the thick carpet.Yesterday DH took the doors off,four in all,and sanded them down.The result is beautifully opening doors but a fine layer of dust over most of the upstairs.Luckily doesn’t seem to be downstairs??

We are now hoping the furniture can be delivered soon and we can move back into our bedroom.Carpets and furniture were chosen the week before lockdown?

It’s not as warm here today so having exerted myself this morning I plan to spend the afternoon reading in the conservatory,my favourite room.

Not much sleep last night as it was too hot and the promised thunder storms didnt arrive here, but it did start to rain around 5am, thank goodness, the plants need it.

Thank you to everyone for all of your kind words. I have sent some flowers for my friend’s daughter who is worn down with all the work she is having to do. Her dad is now on the mend and my friend is still in hospital but the lass has a 12 year daughter to look after as well.

I’m just far too lazy these days Charley . I will try harder . 4 months of being home has reduced my world but I have high hopes for July 6th when I’ll finally be seeing the family after 6 months !!

Susan the little minx- he is so proud of what he has done! It shows he cannot be left on his own for a minute- he is into all sorts of mischief.

I have done next to zilch today it has been so muggy. We have not seen rain here for many days- I am ever hopeful. Rain is forecast tonight so I am leaving the watering until early tomorrow in case it does not rain overnight. By Sunday I will be moaning I am cold again.
