soop, I'm pleased to hear that your consultation with the surgeon went well and before long you will be receiving your long overdue treatment. You will follow the kitchen Drs advice and rest, take it easy won't you? If not it will become an enforceable order you know young lady ?

Grandmafrench, no you are 100% correct nobody cuts an artery by way of a "scratch". It was the word my friend's father used when he cut himself though. She used several bags of salt to soak the blood up off the rug (obviously not straight away) and she had reacted quickly! He did it whittling. He's injured himself
whilst whittling before but they have been scratches. He's even back whittling again, regardless of my friend's concerns ?.

Susan, I'm sorry to hear that you have been having a stressful time, please look after yourself . It's wonderful to hear that Henry is doing so much better with the new dietician at the helm ?

I`m still around, but haven`t had the mental energy recently to read more than a few posts a day, and still not up to posting. Hopefully I`ll be back soon.

Dreamkeeper I am so glad you had your trip out - it will give you new memories. Welcome back Carillion!
This morning I elegantly slid off the bed when I tried to get up quickly with cramp. DH had to come to my rescue! Off to buy new paint and undercoat for the front door this morning after a complete disaster over the weekend. I shall be so glad when it is finished!

At last a date Soop,that in itself during these very turbulent times is great news,some much needed fresh hope that this long term problem can have a happy ending,making you feel much better, and in a much happier frame of mind.It has dragged on for far too long.

Cherry I think it is a sign we are perhaps using our arms,hands and wrists too much although of course medically you are quite right...........warmth as well as a rest usually helps a lot.
We cannot have you unable to communicate with us!

A rather grey day here with a cool breeze, but we are getting ready for the heatwave, a big no to a bikini these days,but yes to lots of sun cream!
Some nice cool cotton summer wear due to arrive mid week........good timing (as long as it fits!)

I've spent the entire afternoon sorting through the wardrobes. At one time I was hidden from view. Towards the end of the almighty task I was singing...'Keep right on to the end of the road...'

Now, I'm feeling chuffed with myself and am suppin' tea.

I shall log off with the usual and share a photo of a very plump fledgling with you all. It sits and waits to be fed, after which, he falls asleep until the next course is delivered. He's twice the size of his parent. It's such a tough life.

A lovely day here in Brittany and a faux buzzard arrived today via A****n to deter the big, fat pesky pigeons who have not only scoffed the few cherries we managed to grow but then ‘pooed’ the debris everywhere.

Doodle, I managed to complete a pleated mask after about three days and a lot of 'inventive' vocabulary. I used instructions on Youtube. There are plenty of them, for two different types. Hope you have better luck. I think it would be quicker to knit one, but in this weather...

Soop, here's hoping that your next appointment will improve matters for you. You've been disappointed a few times, I know, and it would be great to hear some really positive news. You deserve it.

Carillion, we have a similar problem with our small cherry tree, but our thieves are blackbirds. The pigeons are too big to hover and get at the cherries. We've had more cherries this year than ever before too. I may borrow that idea of a faux buzzard. Our DS had a faux heron to deter the real things from eating the fish in the pond, it was a hideous looking thing but it worked.
Thank you for the tip Galen I have arthritis in my feet and I am having increased pain lately.

Very hot weather in NW London for the next few days. Luckily my house is cool so I will not be perspiring too much. I am about to wash my hair and it will dry in no time.

We have nothing to note on the calendar for months. And now, ta-da, I've two outings to look forward to. One in Oban hospital for a rootle round the nethers and an appointment in Glasgow hospital on the 7th July for a mammogram of my existing breast. Let joy be unconfined.

Lovely summer morning, dawn chorus. What would be better to wake up to? Well... maybe a chain saw? a pneumatic drill? Anything that would blot out the incessant nattering of jackdaws. Why do they always sound as if they are quarrelling? Maybe they are. They just went on and on and eventually I forced myself to get up and close my bedroom window which enabled me to have an hour or so sleep.
