No need for apologies here Maw , crying is one way of letting it all out so you should never apologise for it. Id like to think that I know you well enough to know in the next day or so you will pull it all together and put your brave face back on. But don't be harsh on yourself- in times like these accept how you feel , let it out, share with us and we'll help you through.

Glad to hear your sons MiL is helping more Morethan I hope your DiL can enjoy Easter with her little ones.

My daughter has given each boy an egg today ( she has hard boiled it - she's not silly - but has not told them that ) and they have put faces on their egg babies. They have to keep them safe till Good Friday to win a prize !! I reckon Coopers wont make it till teatime - we shall see !!

Yesterday I was completely thrown off balance as I needed to visit the GP to produce a urine sample for analysis - no just dropping them off anymore. My car wouldn't start after 4 weeks of standing idle and I burst into tears. It somehow reinforced that feeling of being all alone on a desert island. I was forced to call a cab and the driver had neither mask nor gloves which threw me into a complete panic. I arrived at the GPs, had to enter the building, go into the loo via two doorhandles and then leave the sample in a basket miles away from the receptionist. And here was me hoping I could just leave a pot in a bag on the doorstep!

maw many may have health issues and family worries but you have lost dear Paw and that’s a massive loss. No wonder in this strange world we find ourselves at the moment you are feeling teary and sad. Gentle hug coming your way and hope your spirits lift soon.

Hope you're feeling brighter this morning Maw !

Mbmb that sounds like a very complicated and worrying trip - surely they could have come up with some better way of doing things !! Our surgery now has a window to the car park open with a table. You just pop whatever you're leaving in there and back away 2 metres and the lady , suitably gloved and gowned, takes it .

The egg babies made it virtually unscathed through the night although when my daughter went in to wake the boys this morning Coopers Egg Baby was on his pillow tucked in with his duvet and Cooper was in his brothers bed with him !! He wants that prize !!

Nothing of any note here today barring that precious thing...a supermarket delivery. Some very creative substitutions by the sound of it not least to Sam's list . Luckily as a Cavalier he'll eat anything so I hope the unusual food wont be a problem. No brown bread again though .

Anyway, sending everyone who needs it a hug( or a glass of wine :-) ) - Happy Day all.

Maw Wishing you a better day than of late. You have many friends here in the kitchen. We understand when you feel low and we enjoy having you here with us when your spirits recover. Either way, we are here for you.

mbmb Your experience sounds very unsettling. Do you think that you have a UTI? If so, the sooner you start a course of antibiotics the better.

N&G Shall we lay bets on Cooper's ability to save his egg? Do update us. He never fails to put a smile on our faces. We all need more smiles at this difficult time. Thank him on our behalf.

Our neighbours did the weekly Campbeltown Tesco shop for us again today. They also gave us each a chocolate Easter egg. Such kindness. I would like to be able to give my egg to a child somewhere who has nothing to look forward to.

I had actually composed a long post and then DD1 rang and I lost it.
I feel mush calmer today, still frustrated at our local nursery for apparently ignoring my order of three weeks ago, but hey, I’d rather sit in the sun than kneel head down in a flower bed anyway.
I got a very sweet card from DGD (5) today - she needs to work on her writing and spelling, but the sentiment was lovely.
Inside (I had to laugh) she has written
“ to Granny I hop you don’t hav the cronavirus Today Daddy bringed the silent piano downsters to plai”
(SIL is an excellent pianist and has been giving the daily piano lessons. However he must have opted to bring down the “silent” electronic one with headphones for them instead of the “sounds” they were presumably making ???)
Hoping Panache is making a good recovery from her procedure and that everyone keeps well.xxx

I've just received a pm from Susan. Henry is quite poorly and an ambulance has been called. She asked me to let you all know as she felt unable to post here herself.

and prayers for Henry and for them all.

Once again your lovely kind thoughts are so very uplifting,thank you all.

I always have had every respect for all within the NHS and associated services, and after yesterday the Hospital some 50 miles away sending their own Ambulance to collect and bring me home again, I am bursting with praise and gratitude for such an outstanding service during such an extra ordinary difficult and busy time.
True enough I had been in tears requesting transport, because I so fear picking up this deadly virus and ultimately bringing it back to my dear man as well as into this Sheltered Home.Hence they reacted in such a wonderful way.
After a very thorough Covid-19 check I was taken straight to their operating theatre and was treated again by a Surgeon properly dressed.It seems I had been misdiagnosed last summer,so this operation was vital.However it meant a much larger and deeper incision, but it is believed that all that needed removing was removed.
Again I have a rather evident scar!............more scars than anything else......... but my word life is precious and we both bless each new day!

Very worrying news from my dear Luton friend hearing the Covid-19 deaths in a Care Home is the very one where her Mother has been resident for the past 18 months.Indeed the situation there, and indeed all around the country is so very heart breaking.

Despite Eastertime and sunshine, how important the message to stay home and help the NHS and save lives.

Feeling very emotional and so strongly about those that turn a deaf ear to these calls.As the Surgeon said to me later yesterday "We in this service would prefer the public paying heed to this call rather than the hand clapping on a Thursday."

I seem to be constantly tired and I truly hope that, when this is over, I regain my energy. All I have done today is hoover the bedroom, empty the bins and hang the washing. I am now having a little lie down!

On a sillier note, we heard from DH's Sil who lives in South Africa. They also have lockdown, the sale of alcohol and cigarettes has been banned and they have been told to abstain from having 'intimate relations' with their partners. It is, however still legal to grow cannabis and she sent us a photo of a plant she had grown. When we asked what she intended to do with it, she said she had no idea but would bl**dy well find out.

Just saying hello dear kitchen friends.
DH has a birthday on Tuesday.
Will have a Victoria sponge cake topped with strawberries, chocolate crumbles and icing sugar. I'm not a great baker but will have a go.

Hello the kitchen. I started the day with a back in total lockdown and hardly able to move. I think this is a result of having eight days of not walking anywhere but around our not enormous garden because we thought DH was shielded, and then a two and three quarter mile flog yesterday when we found out he wasn’t! With the combination of paracetamol and a hot water bottle, it is much improved. Our walks obviously need to be much shorter until we get our mojo back!

Susan my thoughts and prayers are with little Henry. He will be in the very best hands I’m sure, but what a very anxious time for you all.???

The window cleaner came today, rang the bell and said he could only clean our windows with our permission whereas he usually just opens the gate and gets on with it whether we are in or not. I left him a sterilised banknote in a plastic bag on the garden table, and he left the sterilised (he insisted) change. I then sterilised it again! I’m sure (I hope) that one day we will look back on this and laugh at the lengths we are having to go to at the moment and the way they feed our growing paranoia! Needs must when the Devil drives.
